Beautifull and clean rooms, great for families , very helpful staff. Always keen to assist with your queries. In such busy time this is one of the best affordable place . My friend paid same money in other motel in area where it was pet hair n stuff still exist. But Altair motel is one of the best place in Cooma. Recommended for all families. Safe and convenient to all facilities.

Overnight stay only and very suitable for that purpose. Clean and comfortable. Heating works well - essential this time of year. Room quite small but not an issue for a single traveller. Set back from road so no traffic noise.

Overnight stay
We required a hotel to stay overnight between Canberra & Paynesville (Victoria). We booked the Altair and were pleased with the cleanliness and friendly staff during our stay. Good location near the centre of town and walking distance to other amenities. Great breakfast in the morning had us ready to travel again on a full stomach. Highly recommend if accommodation required in Cooma.

Sent to a Different Hotel
Being a family of 5, we choose Wotif as we can select a room or rooms to suit our 2 adult, 3 kid family. We perused the options on Wotif and chose specifically the Altair Motel based on it's rooms which looked comfortable. On arrival, we were told the hotel had double booked! We were sent to the Nebula Hotel after Altair took our booking. All fine, no probs with the Nebula, BUT it was $15 less per night (as per Wotif) and we CHOSE to spend the $15 more for the Altair!!!!

Brilliant motel close to everything in the town
Staff where absolutely brilliant, rooms where excellent and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Also provided a free windscreen wash to top off a brilliant stay

Good parking. Nice outdoor area. Motel management are genuine, natural and very welcoming. Room is nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom is 9 out of 10 (just needs a new tap cover plate). Two things that were a little annoying - 1. No plates in the room and 2. The cleaner entered whilst I was having breakfast in the lobby well before checkout. But very happy and will come back again.

In real life it looks better than the pictures...
Awesome got complimentary cleaning of my car windscreen...it looks better in real life than on the photos, I have never encountered that!! the outdoor deck is a stunner!

Highly recommend
Found the room very pleasant. Unfortunately the aircon was dead. Spoke to reception who acknowledged the issue immediately and advanced me to a larger room. I was booked for 1 night. When I arrived I asked for 2and the manager moved mountains to ensure I was looked after.

Nice hotel close to centre of town.
Comfortable hotel. Has just renovated and some of the renovations are poor. Noted especially small step into bathroom caught us out each time, water leaking from shower onto bathroom floor, ill fitting carpet, dangerous height from parking area up to some rooms - needs a rail.

Comfortable hotel near cafes.
Check in staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet location, close to cafes and short stroll to the town centre. The room had been recently upgraded, and was comfortable, clean and modern, with good amenities, including a small kitchenette and breakfast bar.

Room small and not secure. Bathroom window had no lock and could not be left open when bathroom in use because of privacy. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Good secure WiFi. Worth 2.5 stars only.

We stayed here on the way to Queensland and the room was very clean, comfortable and close to the shops.

Neat and clean.take body wash or soap with you.
Overall it's a good experience and nice place to relax after a long journey. There is no Soap to have a shower so had to do without it just using some conditional shampoo. Helpdesk or Reception is not available during Sunday mornings so no one to assist personally during that time. No regrets. I can definitely refer this place to my friends.

Motel close to facilities
A renovated motel close to shops and park, clean, but has an long lasting odour to the room. Small things that make a difference as a traveler were overlooked- fridge not turned on prior to arrival, very small towels, aircon/heater not upgraded with room and made lots of noise (like a plane!)

A lot to pay for a substandard motel in Cooma
Friday night in Cooma in ski season so clearly they can charge $260 and get away with anything. Nice enough couple. Unfinished renovations, appear to be doing it slowly themselves. Debris left everywhere, nails on driveway. No fridge ("someone must have stolen it"); they replaced it. Smelt like there was a plumbing problem in room. Fairly empty motel yet online said "only one room left".
