  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Encircling the top of the tower are 24 columns with gargoyle-like figures which are restorations of fossil animals.

The man working the front desk was very nice. However, this hotel was the most filthy and rundown hotel I have ever seen or been in.....I asked for a refund after seeing 3 separate rooms. The place smelled, there was trash outside doors, debris all over the most stained carpet, TV missing/ stolen from the 2nd room I looked at, utter and total disrepair .... I can not believe Radisson Hotels is associated with this run down dilapidated and dirty place. They should do a surprise visit/ inspection....This place needs to be closed down and completely cleaned and revamped.....

I have NEVER been so disappointed in a hotel experience. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us. We were finally given a room and the toilet was broken. We reported this and were told that it works, but water runs slow. The next morning, it literally wouldn’t flush. The towels and washcloths were stained and dirty. We requested new towels and washcloths, at which point they said they were out of clean ones and we would have to wait. Fast forward and they gave us a new room. The vents were painted shut, so the air and heat wouldn’t come through. We had to get up and pry them open. This time there were literally NO towels or washcloths in the room. We went down to ask and were again told that there were none available because the laundry service was running late. We requested housekeeping and were told it would be taken care of while we were gone for the day. We got back at 5pm and were told that housekeeping was unavailable and that there were STILL NO TOWELS OR WASHCLOTHS!!! they finally brought them at 9pm and she beat on the door as if she was trying to break it down. Every issue was one excuse after the other. We finally checked out early to move over to Hilton. I have never received such poor service and have never seen a hotel in such unacceptable conditions. My next stop is to report them to BBB.

It was terrible it was bedbugs blood stains on the sheets the shower knob was hanging and the fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling I had booked two rooms I couldn’t believe it I told the front desk lady she just came in looked and said I need to reach the manager which she said was out of town and to call Monday it’s new year eve smh very disappointed and they still took my money off she said I she had to until I talked to the manager and I have pictures smh

The entire place is disgusting. I didn’t even want my luggage to touch the floor in my room. Found bug feces all over the curtains near the bed. Took just a few minutes to realize there was no way I could stay at this hotel leaving me to find a new place in the middle of the night with children after a 5 hour road trip. Save yourself the headache and stay far away from this nightmare hotel!!!

The hotel was dirty: smell of smoke and stains in carpeting throughout the corridors. We were going to stay two nights but left after one. The room smelled dank, the carpet was full of stains, the curtains had dried blood or something dark brown on them, the glass in the French doors were dirty, towels were full of old brown stains, a TV remote had dried sticky spillage on it. Would advise others not to stay here, but then you do get what you pay for with this place.

Worse than a halfway house. Stains on all the floors. Black burn marks on all the floors. Hair and dirt in the shower. Blood on the bed sheets. I couldn’t even stay here. I checked out at 2am and drove to the airport to sleep in my car because it was so disgusting

This by far is one of the worst Country Inn's that I have visited. The place looked run down. The ordor in the building was horrible. Elevator, nasty. Carpet, nasty. I had to look at 4 rooms and they were all horrible. Spider, webs, stains on the carpet, bathroom tub was dirty. Had to buy cleaning supplies to clean it. The cover on bed was paper thin, sheets were stained. Room did not have towels or tissue. Room key kept deactivating. Property full of people who looked like drug addicts. If there were any other hotels in the area, i would have canceled my reservation and checked in somewhere else. I have never had an experience like this at any other Country Inn. I would recommend.

The room was not clean. After I wiped down a few of the frequently touched areas and tub floor, I found how dirty it was. The hallway did not seem refreshed. One of the bed's sheets were stained and the shower curtain was dirty.

The room was in ok condition. Nothing fancy. The room needs brighter light bulbs. No sheers at the windows in our room, so we had to keep the blackouts drapes closed. We were on the first floor. the side exit door had no lock on it. Our room was by the exit door. They need garbage cans at the exit doors. The grounds were filled with litter. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. Staff was very friendly. We had to ask for towels each day.

The property was very dirty and had not been cleaned in quite some time. After checking in and telling me not to smoke in the room, I walk up the stairs to find the hallway was rank with cigarette smoke. The room was dirty and so I went back down and asked for my money back. They didn’t give me my money and would only get me a different room. It was only marginally better. Save your money and choose a better option down the street!

When you book there is a $50 refundable deposit for incidentals, I never received it back!! I did call and still never received it. The facility was warn down and the elevator smelled like urine. We asked for wash cloths just to be told the washer and dryer’s were down which lets me know the sheets we were laying on was probably dirty as well. Will not return and do not recommend!!
The hole in the wall they put tape over and used a black marker as if it was invisible!!
