Columbia River Gorge

Views of the gorge looking down at the vista house at sunset. The day was full of rain except for the quick moment while I took this image.

A cake-slice of the Pacic Crest Trail at the southern end of Washington State. The layers, in order from three meters to infinity: Scrub Maple and Goat Grass, Lake Gillette, Birch, Pacific Silver Fir, Douglas Fir, Table Mountain, the vault of heaven, and the ever-present cable strands of Bonneville Power's distribution lines. Just a tiny sliver of the PCT, but a mighty fine one at that.
