Five-Star Stay

My hotel stay has been exceedingly great. rugs HOTEL Köln has been very welcoming during my stay. The staff are all smiles and they are all willing to help. The breakfast was also delightful as it showcased the best of German breakfast. As a traveler, it made me learn something about Köln and the hospitality it can offer to future visitors.

Only light in the room was from desk lamp, floor lamp and bedside lamps. Even with all lamps on, the room was just dimly lit. No dresser for clothes, just a deep, dark cubby cabinet with 1 shelf. Easier to "live" out of our suitcases the 4 nts we were there than have to bend over, searching cabinet with a flashlight for clothes to wear. Breakfast was ok. No traditional German Brötchen. There were some small "voll korn" rolls which were nice, but otherwise just mini kaiser rolls and rolls COVERED in poppy seeds and sesame seeds. By end of breakfast each morning those were the only rolls left. Obviously not a popular item. Suggest they nix those overly seeded rolls for some traditional brötchen. Also no elevator to the ground floor, so had to carry suitcases up/down flight of stairs. Not handicap friendly. Overall rating would be a 3.8.

Ich war beruflich für eine Übernachtung im rugs. Problem bei mir war, das die Toilettenspülung defekt war…Ich bekam zwar ein anderes Zimmer aber sowas ist ärgerlich und bleibt im Kopf. Das Hotel ist zwar lt. Deutscher Hotelklassifizierung mit 4 Sternen bewertet worden, persönlich hätte ich 3 gesagt, da ich viele Hotels in Köln besucht habe und vergleichen kann. Parkmöglichkeiten muss man in der Nähe suchen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super, das Personal ( wenn man eines sieht) sehr freundlich. Preis-und Leistung stimmt aber leider gar nicht für das was einen hier erwartet. Das Zimmer ist mit dem nötigsten eingerichtet, die Dusche, das Waschbecken und vorallem das Klo sehr veraltet. Sauberkeit könnte besser sein, war aber okay. Der Check in war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Beim Check out, war niemand anzutreffen. Hier habe ich den Schlüssel einfach am Empfang hinterlegt. Klimaanlage bei 31 Grad hat nicht funktioniert, das Fenster konnte man nicht kippen nur ganz öffnen, was es leider nicht möglich machte, bei Abwesenheit es geöffnet zu lassen. Parken am Hotel selbst ist fast unmoglich. In der Nähe gibt es aber ein P R und das Sommerhofs Parkhaus mit Tiefgarage ( 1 Nacht 15€) Frühstück war in Ordnung, allerdings die Brötchen sehr hart. Sehr schade! Die negativen Bewertungen kann ich hiermit leider nur bestätigen. Werde das Hotel nicht nochmal buchen.

Stay in Koln

We were there for the Euro competition. The hotel is located along the Rhine river and it's an ideal location not far from the city center and quite calm. The room was large, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
