Cottage on Hamby

Economical and Convenient.
An efficiency unit, in a quiet neighborhood with one room and bath. An apartment-size refrigerator, with kitchen sink, a Microwave and Air Fryer. TV with Cable TV & WIFI. A double sofa bed, a desk, a stand alone closet with dining table that seats four. The unit is above a single-car garage, which will accommodate a standard passenger vehicle. It is one block from Main Street Clayton, close to the shops, restaurants & pubs. A great place to stay to enjoy the amenities of beautiful Rabun County.
More About Us
Owned by a retired State Judge who lives in the main house & is usually nearby to assist/ but only when approached to do so. Owner and wife value our guest's privacy.
Clayton Georgia is a mountain town in far NE GA at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, about 8 miles from NC & 8 miles from SC. Hollywood likes to come and create movies here, including Disney and Ron Howard, because of the county's unique beauty. We have three large lakes and a National Forest filled with waterfalls and trails... only 10 miles from the Appalachian trial. Its a hiker's paradise!

Other Things to Note
There are 3 golf courses open to the public. A nine hole public course operated by Rabun County along with King wood Club and Sky Valley Club. The Rabun County Historical Society has a museum open the public on select days. It will feature artifacts from the railroad which brought guest to the Tallullah Falls, Black Rock Mountain, Highlands and Franklin NC.

The Cottage was a great find. It is everything 1-2 people need for a comfortable and clean stay in walkable distance to Main Street. This will be my go to cottage when I’m in town. Charles had excellent communication and was a gracious host.

Charles was an exceptional host. The cottage was perfect for my stay. It was very clean and very cozy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The location is outstanding. It is literally 2 blocks from maine st. It takes 4 minutes to walk to the restaurants. I rode my motorcycle to Clayton, and it was fantastic to have the garage to park my bike in. I come to Clayton regularly and will definitely use the cottage again. Thanks Charles.

Hiking in Rabun County

The cottage was clean & roomy enough for 1-2, ideally located, & walkable to downtown 3 blocks away. The bed was comfortable and Charles is a true southern gentleman.

Awesome Mountain Getaway

Nice little cottage

The cottage was very clean and neat. The host was very nice and helpful. He swung by one afternoon to check in to see if we needed anything but other than that gave us our privacy. We would definitely come back if we’re ever in the area

Everything you’ll need

Our host, Charles, was extremely kind & accommodating, and has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Clayton with books/brochures of best places to visit in town. The cottage was quiet, quaint & very clean with its own garage. It’s also strategically located within walking distance to the heart of Clayton. Thanks for everything!

What a great place and super nice owner!!

This is perfect for a short or extended stay. Basically a studio apartment within close walking distance to downtown Clayton. Towels provided. Nice linens and basic dishes, glassware, silverware, please coffee maker (bring ground coffee), toaster oven, microwave, fridge and kitchen sink. Private entrance. Has a small table And chairs to eat, plus a little desk to work at. Super clean and the owner has been amazing.

Cute, Cozy & Clean

It was the perfect place for my weekend stay. It was, just as I titled it.. cute, cozy and clean. The owner is super nice, available when needed, and will help you any way he can to have a pleasant stay. Great location too. Close to all the nice eateries and shops in town. Cozy and quiet

Small appliances for making coffee, simple foods and reheating. Short walk to town for shopping and eating, close drives to north Georgia adventure. You can also spend some time inside reading, watching tv, going online. Host is very polite and helpful if needed.

Lovely cottage, great location, and a very kind host

This cottage is in the perfect location within walking distance to everything you could want to visit in downtown Clayton. It was clean and simple, just what we needed for a weekend of hiking. The host, Charles, is a kind man who came out to greet us and chatted with us briefly. Wonderful stay, we hope to return!

Perfect for a few days

I went to Clayton for a work shop and the cottage provided exactly what I needed. A safe, clean, easily accessible place to shower, study, and sleep. Mr. Mobley was pleasant and attentive. He was even kind enough to check on me when I failed to call him upon arrival. If I ever make my way back to Clayton this is the place for me!
