Perfect Place for Family Celebration

Our family came to visit for our son's Navy Bootcamp Graduation. This house was very comfortable. There were plenty of spaces to relax & visit with each other. The house was well equipped. The host was extremely helpful & friendly. We highly recommend this home!

Chicago trip to Great Lakes

The property looked exactly like the pics. Beds were extremely comfortable. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend this property!! Hosts were very quick to respond any time we contacted them.

great location, clean house

Property was well cared for and clean. Communication with owner was easy and smooth. We ended up having to extend our stay by a day and the owner was very accomodating and responded quickly to our request. I would definitely rent this property again and recommend it to others.

Great Rental

Loved the house. It was the perfect size for a family getaway. Basement was perfect, with laundry, bedroom and gaming area. I had quick responses from owner the entire process. Thank you for everything.

The host was prompt to answer questions and very helpful.The house was not as clean as it should be, there were hairs in one of the beds upon arrival. Family sleeping downstairs said the boards creak so much and the water heater was loud all night, they didn't sleep well. Overall, the host was good, location for navy base, restaurants, & grocery stores were good. Neighborhood is good. The kitchen is not well equipped.

Great family stay

Our son graduated from boot camp. We have a blended family and this location allowed all of us to stay in one place with plenty of space. We had pretty much everything we needed to accommodate all 10 of us. We still had enough space to have our sailor come back and relax before heading back.

Beautiful Stay

This was an amazing house. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice and spacious. My family and I truly enjoyed the homeliness of this vacation home. We wanted to visit downtown Chicago and this was about an hour away from downtown. Great neighborhood to stay in, we felt very safe and comfortable here. The host was also great and replied right away to questions we had. Check-in and check-out process went very smoothly!

Gurnee Getaway great for RTC graduation

Overall listing was spot on. Clean overall, a little on the chilly side upon arrival and one trash can was not empty. Couple items it could use are hand towels for rhe bathrooms, additional dish towels and dish cloths in the kitchen. Aybe add some board games? Other then a few additionas it was a great locations and perfect for what we needed.

Navy Graduation

We came in to town for a Navy graduation. This property was perfect for our stay. It accommodated a big family very comfortably. The extra bedroom downstairs/basement with the game room/tv room was absolutely perfect as well. The kids enjoyed having their own space. The property was in a very quiet neighborhood, the house was very clean as well. We cooked, we laughed, our Sailor enjoyed coming back to a house not a hotel to relax after his ceremony. My only suggestion is thicker curtains, when the light is on in the living room, you can see inside. Also a curtain in the master bathroom, it was kinda creepy early in the morning. The back side neighbor couldn't see in but just that what if feel. I would definitely suggest this property to other's for future Navy Graduations. It was so close to the RTC and close to the Walmart and Casino.

We stayed here for 3 nights while in the Chicago area for our son’s Navy boot camp graduation. The house was conveniently located close to the naval base, making it an easy drive to graduation events. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the furniture and décor were newer and nicely updated.However, there were several issues that impacted our stay. The home is older, and some rooms never seemed to get much A/C while the bathroom stayed very cold. The house is also quite noisy—you can hear footsteps, doors, and conversations throughout the home.The basement stairs were difficult for the seniors in our group, especially since the washer and dryer are located downstairs. Unfortunately, the dryer barely worked. We drove 26 hours each way and packed light because the listing included laundry facilities. After spending over 24 hours trying to dry one load while other loads sat wet and began to smell, we had to spend our last evening at a laundromat. I notified the host, but no solution or reimbursement was offered.The lack of towels made this even more frustrating. There were not enough towels for everyone in our group and no extras available. Since it rained during our stay and the dryer wasn’t working, keeping towels dry was difficult.The kitchen was not well equipped, and the stove layout creates a safety concern, especially with children. Pan handles either extend into the walkway or sit over the heat. The microwave is also close enough to the stove that

The house itself was super comfortable and VERY well stocked. Beds clean and excellent quality, hot water very good, and an amazing basement that we sadly didn’t use much! But it’s great! Backyard is lovely too for cooking out. The big downside is of course only 2 bathrooms for 5 bedrooms, but they are large and really nice and placed for easy sharing (ie you don’t have to walk thru someone’s bedroom to reach either one) The neighborhood doesn’t seem all that interesting at first glance. But excellent grocery stores and coffee spots are within a half mile easy walk (tho it’s largely a driving area, so we of course drove)

The VRBO was perfect for our girls' weekend!!!! It was clean, spacious, and the amenities were amazing (Kurig with K-cups, paper towels, napkins, etc. The neighborhood surrounding the home felt very safe. We shopped at Gurnee Mills which was only 10-12 minutes away. We will definitely rent this VRBO again if we go next year. We all agreed that the home is 5 star all the way!!

Our family stayed here for my son's Navy boot camp graduation. It was fantastic. There are 3 bedrooms on the main level and another in the basement, along with a bonus entertainment/bedroom. It comfortably sleeps 7. The host is fantastic and responds quickly to any concerns or needs. I left my necklace on the nightstand, and he put it in the mail without delay. We mentioned suggestions regarding the heating, and he said he'd look into addressing it for future guests.We look forward to booking with this host for our next trip to Illinois.
