The room was nice and clean. Large enough to include a regular table and 2 chairs as well as a small table on the floor for having tea. The staff was friendly. Breakfast included. The only bad thing I noticed was some mold on the walls in the shower and the water pressure was pretty low. But other than that it was great
We stayed in the Leeden chengdu and left because we had a room that smelt of cigarette smoke. This place was a welcomed escape and exceeded our expectations! Ultimate comfort combined with solid service, cleanliness, great location and finally a simple breakfast. The latter much needed after some nights out eating hot pot!
No need to hesitate stay here!
The hotel was great, beautifully decorated, quiet and serene, yet close to a subway station, restaurants and local stores. The staff was also very helpful and polite. The only thing that could have made it better, is if they spoke better English, since sometimes the communication was challenging. Overall a nice place. I strongly recommend it.
Warning. You can not book the hotel via Expedia. When I tried to check in, the frond desk staff insisted Expedia is a spam. It seems Expedia verified my reservation without confirming with the hotel. I wasted one hour to wait for a notification from Expedia. And unfortunately, they didn't make it before I checked out. Yes, I still lived in this hotel, but at a higher price and with a disappointed mood. Another annoying thing is that the booking takes a non-refundable policy and may fine me for no show. The front desk doesn't speak English, and suggests me to report the event as cheating.
Everything is perfect. The decor is a combination of wood and stone, beautiful artwork is everywhere. The rooms are large, everything is in exactly the right place, and everything works. The staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is very good. Far more than a place to stay, the best hotel I have stayed at in 50 years of travel.
This one is a mixed bag. The location is great, as it sits downtown with plenty of shops around. The place has a "zen" vibe that is well served by how quiet and calm it is. Actually surprising for a downtown location. If you want quiet and convenience on a budget, it's a good choice. Expect the usual Chinese hotel caveats: heating is optional, breakfast has no western option, staff barely speak a word of English.
All of that I have no problem with, I can handle it anytime. Where this one falls short is cleanliness. while the room and linen were undoubtedly clean, the bathroom, the elevators and common areas where very dirty. Construction workmanship is poor, leading to hard-to-maintain premises, coupled with apparent lack of care by management and/or employees make this hotel one I could not recommend.
Fun fact: my Chinese counterpart was so appalled by what she saw that without telling me, she booked my remaining nights at the Shangri-La, which is of course an entirely different ball game.
This is a warm, calming hotel with a relaxed environment.
During our stay, there was construction until 11 PM. This as an inconvenience, but we found a way to shut it out of our space.
Wifi is good, breakfast had plenty of choice. (They ran out of coffee, and did not buy more during the 4 days we were there.
