A period cottage tastefully modernised, tucked away in a sleepy Gloucestershire village. Close enough to Cirencester to feel secure with all its amenities/services, remote enough to feel at ease and at-one with the countryside. The surrounding countryside is truly beautiful, criss-crossed with public footpaths, teeming with wildlife, and home to very friendly people. Ivy Cottage is ideal to use as a base to explore The Cotswolds and many popular tourist destinations all within an hour or two drive eg Bath, Warwick, Stratford, Windsor etc. The rooms in the cottage were clean, tidy and attractively furnished, and the small terraced garden to the rear of the property was a positive "sun-trap". We enjoyed a week of sunshine at the cottage and the rooms remained cool throughout. Within 110 paces of the front door (I know because I counted every step) is the pub -The Seven Tuns -built in the early seventeenth century, just down the hill from the medieval church. There isn't a shop in the village but provisions can be purchased locally at Northleach or Bourton, which is a little further afield. In short, our stay was a very enjoyable experience, one which I hope to repeat in the very near future, and would have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.
