Upstairs so Sunny and Bright 2 Blocks to the Beach

We named it the RATHERSHACK because you'd rather be here than anyplace else in the world. We are 'second row' from the beach - which means a 45 second walk for you slow pokes, or 30 seconds for the average beach bum. The cottage' we are advertising and scheduling here is the 2 BR 1 bath, the other listing is #3478178. Lots of charm and beach feel decor at no extra charge as this unit has all new beach-style furnishings, flooring, paint, new roof, and new air conditioning. This unit has an open floor plan for casual gatherings after your day at the beach. This unit has fully stocked kitchen utensils etc with microwave and dishwasher. The 2 BR features a large master with queen bed, shabby chic charm. The second bed has a full bed with new pillow top thick mattresses, and plenty of changing room. Super clean no allergens pet dander etc as we do not allow pets. This Unit has cable TV and, WIFI . Off Street parking for 1 vehicles included. . Gas grill on site available for you grill masters out there. Riding bikes is one of our favorite things to do around around here, and look at all the sugar shacks, moderate homes, and homemade fishing piers plopped right next to the occasional McMansion. Architectural variety on every block. Folly Beach makes no judgment on who you are or where you come from...just bring your flip flops and come as you are.

Chic, cozy, well appointed. Comfy beds. Katt was awesome— in touch, accommodating and generous. Great beaches, bars and restaurants, and riding bikes (Folly Beach Adventures delivers and picks up!) around the island was an absolute delight. A recent storm had knocked down fencing and the outdoor shower— work was quickly done while we were there during unobtrusive hours.

Perfect location!

What a fantastic find! Our stay was perfect, and the place was very clean, well equipped, and just a block from the beach! We had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My husband and I travel frequently and we really appreciated all of the extra amenities, especially the hooks in the bathroom and the extra towels. We will definitely be back!

The house was comfortable and the location to the beach was great! Very easy walk to the beach access. We booked this space because of the yard and outdoor space from the photos but when we arrived the yard and space from the photos were assigned to another space. We would have booked another VRBO house that had a yard had this been indicated on the photos or descriptions. The hosts were very nice and welcoming!

Better late than never!

I stayed at this property over Thanksgiving with my husband and young adult daughter. We had an easy contactless check-in due to Covid that we appreciated. The home was just as advertised and was so well stocked and super cute. The owner left a starter kit of coffee, detergent, etc. so we didn't need to run off to the store before the beach. Check out was super easy as well. We would definitely stay again as it is an easy walk to restaurants and shopping and 2 blocks to beach. Perfect stay - thank you!

What an incredible experience we had during our stay. The property is in excellent condition, the owners are amazing and the walk to the beach is short and easy (even when carrying beach stuff). You seriously do not need a car with easy walking distance to any restaurants and shopping you may need while you are there. Folly Beach provides quick access to Charleston and taxi/ride sharing service is available to and from downtown if you don't have a car or want to enjoy some adult beverages and need a ride. My friend and I stayed for a girls week away but I would recommend this property for couples and families as well. We will definitely be repeat guests!

Wonderful place for a beach retreat!

We cannot say enough about the Roofshack at Folly Beach...we have stayed at many VRBOs all over the country. This is the BEST one yet!!! The beach house is decorated with the perfect combination of comfort and simple beauty. The beds are super comfortable ...a must for us. It is one of the cleanest places we have stayed in. The kitchen is fully stocked, the outside grill a big plus and the bathroom with the shower and claw foot tub a wonderful treat. The location is within a short walk to the beach, and within walking distance to the downtown restaurants and shops. We ended staying an extra day because we enjoyed ourselves so much! Many thanks to Katherine and Sam for a much needed r and r! They are perfect hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at this home with my wife and in-laws! It had plenty of space for all four of us and was the perfect place to relax during our Folly Beach vacation.The location couldn’t be better. Just a short walk to the beach and only about 8 minutes to Center Street. It was close enough to everything, but still felt peaceful and private.The house was stocked with everything we needed, including plenty of pots and pans for cooking. We also appreciated the abundance of towels (including beach towels) and the four beach chairs they provided.Inside, the home was very clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully arranged. The A/C was a total lifesaver. We were there during extreme heat advisories with temps in the high 90s, and the HVAC had no problem keeping the space cool and comfortable. It always felt amazing to walk back inside after a hot beach day.Our hosts were incredibly kind and communicative throughout the entire process. One note for future guests: there isn’t a washer or dryer, so just be sure to pack accordingly. That said, it didn’t take away from the experience at all.We’ll definitely book with them again, they have several other properties, and this stay set the bar high!

It was very clean, the location was amazing, the check in and check out process was seamless, and the property is decorated very nicely. You can tell a lot of thought and effort goes into the upkeep of this place. If we return to Folly Beach we will definitely stay here again!

Perfect Week in the Sweet Hippie Shack

My sisters and I stayed in Hippie Shack for the week to celebrate my 70 th birthday. It was perfect. Just 2 short blocks to the beach! The shack as it is called is adorable. So nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable, everything we needed was there. It’s just a short walk to Resturants and Shopping. I recommend Rita’s and The Crab Shack. And Bert’s Store is a fun stop. Katt was very responsive to any questions we had. Thanks Katt for allowing us to stay in your perfect little shack.
