Scandelaia is a historic exposed stone villa located in an elevated position near Castelnuovo Berardenga, with panoramic views of the Chianti hills and the distant towers of Siena. Accessible via an avenue lined with cypress trees and surrounded by terraced gardens and woods, the villa has been carefully restored to preserve its original architecture. Thick stone walls, exposed beams and terracotta floors are combined with period furniture and works of art. Large lounges and dining rooms, as well as six bedrooms, can accommodate up to twelve people. Designed for outdoor living, the property has outdoor dining and relaxation areas, a botanical garden and a large terraced pool area with open views of the countryside. Ideal for families or groups, the estate offers generous indoor and outdoor spaces, while remaining a short distance from Siena, the Chianti wine villages and the local restaurants of San Gusmè. The discreet caretakers live in a separate annex and take care of the maintenance of the park and the pool.

Interiors:
The villa is spread over two floors connected by an internal staircase, as well as a room in the tower. GROUND FLOOR — Living room with dining area, large fireplace and sitting room; kitchen with two separate operating areas; pantry and laundry room; two double bedrooms (one with a divisible bed), both with en-suite bathroom with bathtub; all rooms on this floor have direct access to the garden. FIRST FLOOR — A master bedroom with private bathroom with tub and shower; a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub and shower (accessible down four steps); a double bedroom (with joinable beds) with en-suite bathroom with bathtub; study; living room; a bathroom with tub and shower serving the room in the tower. TOWER — A double bedroom accessible via an internal staircase. Air conditioning in the rooms.
Park:
The property covers about 40 hectares of land, including woods and olive groves along a terraced ridge. The fenced park of one hectare that surrounds the villa is spread over several connected levels, with paved paths, stone stairways and lawn areas that lead to a botanical garden planted with flowery borders, lavender, rosemary, oleanders, hydrangeas and climbing roses. The entrance is framed by ivy and wisteria, with cypress trees along the avenue and a gravel road that leads to a parking area for up to ten cars. Around the villa there are various outdoor dining and relaxation areas, including a large table with umbrella, barbecue, table tennis table and sitting areas on the back terrace. The pool area is located on a lower terrace, accessible via two separate flights of stairs. N.B.: Please note that the photo shoots are usually carried out in spring, so the colors and blooms of the gardens, lawns and parks may be different when you enter the villa.
Pool:
The pool is located on the lower lower terrace, about 30 m from the villa; it has a rectangular shape and measures 17 x 5 m with a depth of 1.5 m in the center and 2.5 m at the ends; covered in mosaic; access via a Roman staircase with handrail; salt purification; internal lighting; night cover. The solarium, paved with terracotta, is surrounded by flowerbeds with geraniums, oleanders and blue plumbago; equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas, cold water shower and relaxation area. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
