「Big rooms no furniture. Old not well maintained. No roll away cots. Bar closed opened at 4pm on memorial weekend. Only good thing was the beach was down the street」

「As the first timer, the resort was a lot to unpack! Just know that that is a lot going on visually and audibly when you walk into the lobby and through the restaurant. I do however appreciate that once we got to our room, everything was toned down enough to unwind. I would definitely stay again. There was a temporary power outage, but I had to believe that that was a one off. Other than that, it was so convenient to go to and from the park as well as go down to eat. My kids had a blast!」

「The grounds are very pleasant, I mean you have a lake! But desk staff and especially the fake redhead at the coffee shop were less than convincingly friendly. The young barista with the hair dye job was talking with the other girl(cashier), walked past me, never once looked at me while she placed my drink on the counter right in front of me. Continued walking past, while still conversing with her co-worker, I looked up at my drink, she turned partly around to look at me through her peripheral...

「I stayed here a month ago and then 6 tv channels were frozen. This time the same 6 channels frozen, plus another 6 channels. That means half the channels on the TV don't work.」

「Scandia is a good place. The room is very comfortable and the people who run it are nice. The parking is good; you can be very close to your room. The location is pleasant, close to everything with lots of choices of things to do around you in Carlsbad Village or neighboring Oceanside. There is an occasional freight train or Amtrack that goes by but it adds to the charm of the village. There is a historic prep school, Army Navy Academy that has a beautiful campus with lots of old trees. ...
