Cana Island Lighthouse

Causway was closed to the island due to rough water conditions.

We couldn't get to the lighthouse because the lake is 3-4 feet above normal.

Due to the high water level currently in Lake Michigan you can not walk to the lighthouse. Instead a tractor pulling a wagon is used to transport people to the island. Make sure to arrive in time to allow for that as it shuts down at 4:30 pm.

Closed due to weather

It was great to be able to visit the island. We unfortunately were not able to climb the lighthouse due to flooding. However, they did not charge us for exploring the island because of this. I would recommend checking ahead of time to make sure you would be able to get to the island before making the trip. Otherwise, it is definitely worth going.
