The property is located in a big apartment building with a beautiful view and easy access to the beach and marina. The unit is well equipped and overall well taken care of. We were having a great time until the manager barged in accusing us off not paying for the rental. I was under the impression that I paid in full when booking with VRBO and had never received any emails about outstanding payments. After looking at the app and my credit card statement we realized that VRBO had only taken 1/3 of the payment at the initial booking. The manager put the owner on the phone to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the owner immediately jumped into a rant accusing us of scamming him, not allowing me to explain that this was an honest mistake and that VRBO never sent me any emails about outstanding payments. I even showed the manager my inbox to prove this. Once she confirmed this, the owner calmed down a bit, and I immediately made the outstanding payment. While this was happening, the property manger went around the apartment making comments about fingerprints on the glass door and was snooping around the place, which made us feel very uncomfortable. This whole interaction put a real damper on our stay. Also, be aware that internet is not included in the rental fee. We have friends who own an apartment in the building, and they had considered recommending this place to family. Not sure that I can recommend to them after this rude interaction with the host.
