Some of West Virginia's finest attractions, as well as our favorite restaurants, can be found in a brochure upon your arrival.
PLEASE NOTE: -We frequently replenish the gravel in the driveway; however, it can still be difficult to navigate in the winter. We recommend a 4wd vehicle if the weather is icy. -Cable and wifi are unavailable due to the cabin's secluded location in the West Virginia mountains. WE DO HAVE A HOTSPOT AVAILABLE On Site and plenty of dvds to choose from. -Cell phone service in rural WV can be spotty at times; however, we have AT&T and get good service.
My wife's great grandfather originally built the Muskie-Lounge River Retreat as a hunting cabin. We have recently undergone adventure of transforming this cabin into our family home. We are frequently making renovations to create a more family friendly atmosphere while still maintaining the rugged mountain environment. We appreciate any thoughtful feedback you may provide.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was conveniently located to both town and our family. It is a homey dwelling with lots of space. It was great to be unplugged for a while.
We visited over the holidays with our family and were inpressed with the cabin! Plenty of room for thebkids to play and they loved the toys that were included! We had a few minor issues but the hosts were quicl to communicate and resolve them. Can't wait to stay here on our next trip!We
Stayed here for a fishing trip. Close to the boat ramps and a great place to come home to after a day of fishing

I really liked how quiet it was I loved sitting on the balcony first thing in the morning got to watch two baby deer playing the property is perfect my kid's didn't want to leave we had an amazing time
We stayed 2 nights over Labor Day weekend and everyone had a great time. We had everything we needed and the cabin was clean and nice. The hosts are wonderful. I highly recommend this property.
Property was a great home base for our family in the Buckhannon area to visit family. Quiet place-especially since the trains do not seem to be running anymore(coal mine closed). Hosts were quick to respond to a request, and exceeded our expectations.
My small group spent the weekend to plan our upcoming year. We enjoyed the quant and quiet of this location. It had everything we needed to work and relax. Thank you!
We had a great stay here at the Muskie-Lounge River Retreat!!
We were here for my son’s wedding.
The cabin was clean and ready when we arrived.
The Tenney’s were flexible on check-in times and allowed us to get in a bit early to be able to shower/change from traveling before our rehearsal dinner.
Evenings spent on the deck around the fire was very relaxing!!
Would for sure bring the family back again!
The cabin was nice and clean. The stairs are a bit steep but we was able to manage them. The check out was at 11 am so it was nice not be to rushed when leaving. Check in was super easy also. We had everything provided to make our stay very comfortable. The river was just a short walk to do some fishing.
Great experience! Clean, Wi-Fi hotspot provided as requested, excellent communication with property owners throughout as they answered questions quickly and offered recommendations. Upstairs stayed cool with window A/C and ceiling fans, although I recommend bringing an extra box fan for any hot sleepers (one fan was provided with property, but we’re a bunch of hot-sleepers). Beds were comfy, free firewood offered was extremely thoughtful. We had a lovely stay and recommend staying here.
The cabin was a great experience for me and my siblings! Everything was very nice and thoughtful, the location was beautiful! The river was on the other side so don't expect to fish or swim without a bit of climbing and walking through plants. Also the train tracks were a very nice walk and through our trip we never saw the train. But there was multiple spots around that where great for hiking and walking around town. The stairs don't have any carpet so be very careful on them as most of the beds and entertainment are up stairs. This is a great spot, as we had never been to West Virginia before but I truly believe that this was a little slice of heaven!

This property is very quiet and everything was in the house that we needed. Only issue was we had 2 older people that were not able to get up the steps and that is where the couch is. Only place to sit downstairs is the kitchen table. Other than that everything was great.
The house was clean and ready for use. Lots of beds and spaces for sleeping for larger groups. The house was a little cold but there was an electrict fireplace so the upstairs was always nice and cozy. We had a fire outside the last night and enjoyed the outdoors. Priperty is conviniently only 15 minutes away from grocery stores/gas stations/ etc. There was some cleaning we had to do before check out but it was not too bad. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.
Very nice... only issue for us was fishing and swimming wasn't available at the cabin. We thought the river would be in front and easy to access but there wasn't a place available.
This cabin was awesome, secluded and quiet, we explored the area with-in 2 hrs. of cabin every day, visited town shops and antique stores. Visiting New River Gorge then Buffalo Creek Lantern Cruise was the highlight of the trip, a must see. We had a pit fire every night outside the cabin, awesome firepit. Would recommend this cabin for your stay.
