A quieter resort than some of its more famous neighbours, Flamborough nevertheless is still packed with charm and a good deal of local amenities, including a shop, pubs, restaurants and even that seaside necessity, good old fish and chips. Bird watchers flock here in droves to visit RSPB Bempton Cliffs where you can see puffins between March and August. For a good, old fashioned day at the seaside, head to the spa resort of Bridlington which boasts heaps of activities and traditional seaside fun. Or, head north along the coast and enjoy a day in Scarborough, visit Robin Hood’s Bay or go and shop, eat and maybe take a boat trip around the traditional harbour in the very popular coastal town of Whitby.
For a change of pace, York is a must and history buffs will find much to explore. In the same vein, the area also offers lots of stately homes including Sledmere, Burton Agnes and Burton Constable. Why not take the land train, which travels along the coast up to Sewerby where you can visit the famous Sewerby Hall and Gardens? In fact there is so much to see and do that you are sure to return, just to fit it all in, and having fallen in love with the Light House, you are sure to return there too. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We loved our stay at the Light House in Flamborough, the accommodation was new and clean with everything you needed, the location was perfect for walks over the cliffs and with easy reach by car to some lovely beaches. The neighbours to the property were very friendly and helpful as to where to go.If you like the quieter holiday then this is the place, came back chilled and relaxed.

A beautiful brand new bungalow decorated and appointed to a very high standard; everything you could possibly need is provided. The Light House is situated in a pleasant, newly built small development a short walk from the local village amenities and the fantastic cliff top walks around Flamborough head. If you want a comfortable, homely base in a quiet relaxing spot this may be the perfect choice. Correspondence with the owners was easy, friendly and certainly made us feel like valued customers. I would definitely highly recommend The Light House!
