The Bunker Hill Monument was erected to commemorate the Battle of Bunker Hill (which actually took place on Breed's Hill), the first major conflict between British and Patriot forces in the American Revolutionary War, fought there June 17, 1775. 

The 221-foot granite obelisk (compared to 554 feet of the Washington Monument) was erected between 1827 and 1843 in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Clean spacious room and hotel staff were amazing. The only thing I didn’t like was the overly priced parking per night and the breakfast. They should have more breakfast choices like bacon and home fries because the sausages were very tough
