We had a wonderful stay at The Richlands! This location was perfect! The host was very responsive. The amenities were great, gated-community with a indoor pool/hot tub. The host let us check-in early and check-out late. The house was nice but a little out-dated, especially the tvs and couches. Besides that, we had a great time!
The house is situated halfway between Boone and Banner Elk. It was a great house - love the wall of windows. I bet it's beautiful when it snows. Everything was clean and neat. The living room furniture needs updating and is really not comfortable. Beds were good though! I also think a baking sheet & muffin pan in the kitchen would be a good addition. The house behind ours had burned recently I think, and they had tree cutting crews there several mornings cutting the burned trees, even one in our yard. The boys loved watching them! It was fascinating. I can't say enough about how wonderful the pools are. The outdoor pool is so beautiful!! It is a few minutes drive, but definitely worth it. The boys loved the indoor pool and it's perfect for little ones. We loved the house and would definitely stay again. Thank you Foscoe for a wonderful vacation base! So much to do in Boone - it would take several weeks to do it all. We went to Linville Falls & Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, Price Lake, Banner Elk for dinner, Boone for breakfast (Vicious Biscuits - yum). Don't miss the absolutely breathtaking view from Grandfather Mountain and also Wiseman's. That was a gem that a trail guide we happened into told us about. It's a 15 minute ride on a gravel road up from Linville Falls parking lot. The road has ruts and is not for every vehicle! My son's truck made it very fun, and it's definitely worth the drive...we were very active during this trip and loved it!
Contact less check in and check out. Cabin was very nice
Beautiful area, cabin had a beautful view. The cabin was clean and check in/check out was super easy. Very nice area with a lot if trails and attractions.

Perfect Home
Rented the Richlands for our sons graduation from App State. The house was perfect. The location was perfect. House was clean and beautifully decorated. The two sets of grandparents each had a bedroom and my husband and I had the other. The only issue I would say is the sleeper sofa downstairs. My adult daughter tried to sleep on it and said it was so uncomfortable and opted to sleep on the couch. So if you are planning 8 people to sleep at this home just make note about the sleeper sofa.

Cool summer nights in Echota
The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated while the deck offered a cool place to sit and relax. The kitchen had all the amenities you'd need to cook, but we chose to eat out. The pool was not far away and our two kids sure loved a quick swim before checking out. Our only suggestion would be to replace the downstairs sleeper sofa ...quite uncomfortable. The internet didn't work, but we did not report it as it wasn't a big deal and parking is limited ...tight squeeze for three cars.

What a Great Weekend
This was a perfect get-a-way for some long time friends. Despite Hurricane Joaquin blowing in for a rainy Appalachian State Homecoming Football game -- we survived the wet weekend. The house was beautiful, cozy and convenient. The ice maker was slow to make ice, as it had been emptied out and turned off prior to our arrival - but everything was perfect. All the necessary toiletries and paper products were provide for a 2-night stay. Next time I"ll bring my K-cups - as there is a Keurig at the house also!
