Details on the living space:

*Main cabin sleeps 2 adults plus 2 children and includes a primary bedroom with a queen bed and loft with twin beds. The full bath in the main cabin is only accessible through the primary bedroom. Apartment sleeps 2 and includes a queen bed and attached full bath.
*Large open kitchen is equipped with a professional gas stove, coffee bar and dining table with seating for 6.
*A Roku TV is in the living room, and a second Roku TV is in the downstairs apartment. For your convenience Roku TVs are operating in Guest Mode. You may bring your own logins which will be automatically erased at checkout.
* Graco Pack n Play, safety gate, and highchair.
*Toys, art easel, board games, books and Nintendo WiiU
*Relax on the back deck, by the fire pit, in the hot tub or inside by the fireplace (please note - 2-person hot tub)
*Basement apartment, with separate outside access only (no interior access to the main cabin), is automatically added with an extra guest charge of $5 per guest per night for 3 or more guests. Apartment includes a kitchenette, second living room, laundry, second full bath and second queen bed.
*Traveling with pets? Let us know so we can send you our pet policy and ready the space for your four-footed friend.
*Please note that due to the steep driveway and steps at the entry, the cabin may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. A Kasa camera is located on the side of the front porch facing the driveway. Views are of the driveway and side yard only and the camera does not point to any interior spaces. Video is constantly recording with the sound recording disabled.

As part of our services, we now offer the option to pre order a romantic package, gift basket, charcuterie board or bouquet to be delivered to the cabin for your arrival. A wonderful way to celebrate your special day!

For guests arriving in winter please be careful of the weather. The privately maintained gravel road leading to the cabin is narrow in spots and may become icy. A 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle is NECESSARY in winter weather.

Please review the lease agreement which becomes a binding contract once your booking is confirmed. You may request a copy of the lease agreement.

Great stay

Cute cabin with great attention to detail. Smores, hot chocolate and kids toys/easel were a great hit with our family. It had all the space and kitchen items we needed.

Spacious and Lovely Home Away from Home!

This is a great place to stay, it has everything you need and lots of room in the living and kitchen areas! The apartment downstairs was great for our oldest and my twins loved the loft! The hot tub works well and was nice after skiing! We would totally love to stay here again!

Ski Weekend in Boone

Came up for a weekend of skiing in Boone and enjoyed this house! Great dining/living area to hang out in. Just wish we could have stayed a little longer!

Winter wonderland

The property was exactly as listed. The owners thought of every detail from a full stocked coffee/hot chocolate bar to all the fixings for smores by the fire. It was a great experience and we will be back!

Great cabin, tricky driveway

This was a perfect spot for our stay. Close to App State, skiing at Sugar Mountain, downtown Boone. The driveway was tough for our 2WD truck to get into. We had to go past and turn around to get in. Hot tub and kitchen were wonderful. Games and puzzles were fun for us.

Cozy Retreat

Our family came to Boone to celebrate our daughter's graduation from App State and we stayed at Rustic with a Chef Stove. It was a perfect place for our family! We loved playing games by the fireplace, relaxing in the hot tub and making smores around the fire pit. There were nice personal touches (well stocked coffee bar, smores stuff, welcome note and snacks) upon our arrival. It was a great weekend!

Beautiful Home for Mountain Get-a-way

This house is beautiful and has everything you need for the perfect get-a-way! Great kitchen, cute coffee bar, books, games and comfy beds! The hot tub is perfect size for 2 people. Will definitely be back.

Excellent amenities and Great location

The house had all the amenities you could want. From the coffee/tea station to the jacuzzi to the porch and deck, everything was well prepared and added to the enjoyment of staying there. The cabin is also conveniently located to all sorts of hiking, shopping and locations to visit in the mountains. We also used the basement apartment which was a wonderful option for both comfort and convenience.

Beautiful cabin, very close to everything

Tangle wood cabin is lovely. It is located in a quiet mountain neighborhood, just a 10 minute drive from most restaurants and shops. Hot tub was an added treat after a day of hiking. We spent much of our afternoons relaxing on the front porch. Cabin is well equipped.

Perfect mountain getaway!

My family and I had the best time at Tanglewood Cabin! We would highly recommend this beautiful cabin. The cabin was exceptionally clean. The furniture and beds were extremely comfortable. The location was perfect! Diane had wonderful communication. We can't wait for our next stay.

Cozy cabin

Loved the location and overall feel of the cabin. It was clean and quaint, a great space for our large family. Communication with the owner was excellent. She was even kind enough to allow us an extended check-out when we requested due to day light savings. We will definitely book again!

Loved the Cabin

We loved the cabin and fenced area for the dogs. The only thing we didn’t like was the steep gravel driveway, it was challenging with our adult son that’s in a wheelchair. But we managed that. Overall super nice cabin and would highly recommend.

Quick trip to App State

My daughter was attending a soccer camp and App state. We were looking for a comfortable place to stay that gave us room to move and was close to the school. We found it!! The cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed and more. We really loved the coffee bar and fireplace.

Close to downtown and Tweetsie Railroad. Kitchen was stocked with seasonings, gourmet oven etc. House was clean. We enjoyed ourselves especially w the hot tub. Highly recommended!

Delightful cabin in the woods

It is a cabin with a special living area in kitchen, dining room and living room. The apartment downstairs is inconvenient when the residents want to spend time together. But good for teenagers who want to be separate.

Don’t miss this one!

This property is as cute as they get. Great communication and check-in/out instructions. Much bigger than it looks in the pictures. It’s clean, cute and very cozy. It’s also very pet friendly and even has a fenced yard with a pet waste can and bags. If you have kids it has an amazing loft that they’d love. However, the best part of this property is its location to downtown Boone and Appalachian State. We’ll be back and this will be the property we stay at.

Absolutely Perfect!

We had an amazing stay at this VRBO property. The kitchen was a highlight, perfect for family meals and outdoor grilling. The separate apartment added a nice touch of privacy. Evenings around the fire pit making s'mores were a hit. The house was cozy, filled with family activities and games. The welcome basket was a thoughtful touch, making us feel right at home. If you're looking for a warm, friendly retreat, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Great get away

It is a beautiful cabin in the woods. Clean and amenities were great. It was a little difficult to find the first time at night and I would suggest arriving during daylight. I apparently did not pay attention to the wording that the third bedroom has to be accessed from the outside. Additionally the only bathroom on the main floor is in the master bedroom, so make sure this works for you.
