Great accommodation for Big Bear Snowbaording

Perfect for us. There were 4 adults and 2 kids. Loved that the kids room had 2 separate beds for them. Very close to the slopes. Host was easily accessible.

We had a nice stay

We enjoyed our stay overall. The cabin was cozy and the checkin was smooth and easy. Cabin could use updating, the knives were falling apart when we used them along with other kitchen accessories. There were items we found left from other renters and their trash, so also some cleanliness concerns.

overall good but needed some improvident

we enjoyed our stay in March 2018, but couple of things which we really feel should be correct. 1- Dishwasher down - we have to do dishes in sink one by one killed lot of time 2 - Towels are not good at all, some of them leaving thread behind and not socking water well. 3 - Toilet seats are very uncomfortable. 4 - Light in living room is very less. just 2 lamps with dark shade is giving lazy feeling, can't play in low light. 5 - most of the things expired in kitchen, looks like not changed on time.

Warm, cozy cabin. Comfortable and lovely.

We visited the Big Bear area from January 20 through January 22, 2017 and had no idea it would be a record-breaking snow fall that week. In fact, during the drive up from Los Angeles it was already raining hard in most of Southern California. Snow chains for our tires were definitely required (we already knew about that) and there was limited access to Big Bear either one or two of the three routes up the hill were closed due to unsafe road conditions. We came up our usual way (through Lucerne Valley) and stopped right after the concrete factory to put on our chains. The rest of the way up the mountain was un-eventful with full on snow flurries beginning at Baldwin Lake! Upon our arrival to the cabin (caretaker Ken knew we were running late due to weather conditions) we found that we could not enter the driveway due to snow fall and a 3 foot berm surrounding the property made by the local snow plow operators. Luckily, Ken was able to contact the property manager's private snow removal service to get access to the property for us otherwise we would have had to go back home!! Our weekend at the cabin was a lot of fun for us and for our two grandchildren who loved playing in the snow. There was so much snow and conditions were great for kids who wanted to build a snowman or just have good old fashioned snow ball fight. The cabin was easily kept warm because of it's central heating, and we did not use the fireplace but there was a really nice fireplace for use. Next time when we stay longer we will build a fire. We weren't in the cabin long enough to enjoy a fire!! The only downside to the cabin was it's location to the slopes. Because we are not skiers or snowboarders the constant traffic to the slope was a little annoying. Besides that, cars and trucks kept getting stuck right in front of our cabin, most notably a huge tour bus that was stuck directly in front of our driveway blocking us IN for about 4 hours!! I'm sure during the week days it is not as busy so maybe we will try for that next time. Otherwise, the place was fantastic and well kept up by the owners and property managers. We do not hesitate to recommend this place. Great written instructions were included on everything EXCEPT how to work the television/cable service. That would be helpful as it took us quite a while to figure it out. Not a huge deal but while on vacation one doesn't really want to re-learn a cable system!! Thanks again for hosting!! :)
