A wonderful location with ever changing views of the river and estuary.
A wonderful location with ever changing views of the river and estuary.
Shorewater is not really suitable for six. The double bedroom door on the first floor could not close because the bed overhung the doorway and the third bedroom is bunk beds
Having said that the main bedroom is lovely.
The house could benefit from some better attention though. We felt that it had not been sufficiently prepared
e.g freezer compartment heavily iced up.

Considering the weather we had, we really enjoyed our stay at Shorewaters, in Appledore. The view from the main window was fab, changing frequently with the tide, weather and light. Definitely a property to unwind and kick back. Local amenities in Appledore are to be found virtually on the doorstep and we particularly enjoyed our two meals at the Seagate pub.

We had a wonderful time at Shorewaters and the only mark down on the local amenities is that Appledo
We had a wonderful time at Shorewaters and the only mark down on the local amenities is that Appledore could do with a few more clothes shops. It is a lovely quiet resort if that is what you are looking for and some very fine eateries with delicious and very reasonably priced menu's. The cottage does have steep stairs and that could be an issue for some but apart from that we couldn't fault it and hope to be back again very soon!

Beautiful location, pleasent surroundings and very friendly locals.
Beautiful location, pleasent surroundings and very friendly locals. Not a lot to do in Appledore but we knew that when we booked, it was a great base for getting out and visiting Ilfracombe and Westward Hoi etc where there was plenty to do and see. Parking was hit and miss but it was worth it just for the spectacular views from the cottage. All in all a very peacfuel and tranquil holiday.
Devon is so laid back.

My family and I have just enjoyed a sunny relaxing holiday at shorewaters. The property is in a perfect spot with beautiful views over the estuary to instow. 3 generations have had a lovely week thank you. Will definitely come again.
Brilliant location, nice house .....only down side was the radiators on full blast and a nightmare to control heating

A very relaxing stay for our wedding anniversary weekend.
A very relaxing stay for our wedding anniversary weekend. Such a treat to stay right beside the water, the views are stunning!
As other reviews have said, the bathroom could do with a little TLC but overall the cottage is lovely. Our dog loved looking out at the view and enjoyed lots of walks around Appledore and the nearby country park. We would love to come back in the warmer months so we can sit outside and fully appreciate the location!

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Shorewaters. Great location, fantastic views and so comfortable. Would recommend two changes to the cottage; refurb the downstairs bathroom and add sensor light on stairs from top bedroom so if you do have to go to the toilet in the night you don’t need to turn the lights on

Appledore is a hidden gem and the waterside location of this cottage is something special.
Appledore is a hidden gem and the waterside location of this cottage is something special.
Only downsides are 3/4 bed is rather small for 2 adults and 1 shower for 6 requires organisation!
No car parking space and public car park is a 5 min walk, but weekly ticket available for £16 summer 2019 so not too expensive.
Lots to do in the area. Went sailing, walking with Alpacas, RHS Rosemore, cliff walk and Exmoor zoo, among other things.

Shore waters is a lovely location and the cottage is well equipped.
Shore waters is a lovely location and the cottage is well equipped.
We have a thirteen and ten year old and they loved crabbing from the balcony. Appledore has everything that you need and is incredibly friendly and a foodies paradise. We had such a lovely time there. Westward Ho! Was great for bodyboarding and the Milky Way was a great day out for the family.
The down side was a cottage a couple of doors up is being gutted and totally done up so all through the day there was constant banging and high speed tools on the go and I also had to close the doors on the balcony due to the language coming from the builders. (This is not the owners fault and these things happen) The Bathroom downstairs is very cramped and we read that it was to be re done and is a little tired and could do with some TLC. There were a number of bulbs blown and not replaced on our arrival and the previous visitors had not left the wheelie bin unlocked so we had to store our rubbish bags until the next collection.
As this is a fisherman’s cottage the stairs are very steep so be careful.
Although these are the negatives we had, the pros certainly outweighed them. It really is an idyllic cottage and location. We would certainly re visit if the chance arose.
Appledore captivates you with its charm and so does the cottage. There are certainly some quirky and eccentric houses in Appledore which we loved. There is no sea side chintz, but classy delicatessens and shops.
If people mention about the parking negatives, there are none! Little exercise never goes amiss. It was very logical and makes sense. Unload and load the car on arrival and departure outside the cottage and then park in the public car park. Simple!
Thank you for letting us use the cottage and we would certainly like to return.
lovely view, and very enjoyable living accommodation downstairs. upstairs could do with decorating to the same standard as downstairs. Cottage a few minutes walk from useful shops, lovely tea rooms etc. Will recommend for a restful, but plenty places of interest especially by bus

Had a wonderful time, the views are amazing and the position of the cottage is perfect to enjoy them
Had a wonderful time, the views are amazing and the position of the cottage is perfect to enjoy them. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Our son-in-law and daughter visited for a couple of nights but found the second bed too small to sleep comfortably in unfortunately. I had seen in a previous review that the bathroom was going to be upgraded during the winter season so we were a bit disappointed that this hadn’t been done as, whilst everything works fine, it does need some tlc. We absolutely loved Appledore and didn’t want to leave.
