Set back from the road on one hectare of land, the property enjoys sweeping 180 degree harbour views stretching towards Mount Maunganui, where large passenger ships can be seen gliding across the water.
Inside, the cottage offers light filled, open plan living designed for comfort and ease. The lounge, dining, and kitchen flow seamlessly together, with large windows ensuring the remarkable outlook is always on display. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, and the dining area provides a welcoming space to sit back and enjoy them together.
The cottage offers two comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double, along with a full bathroom and essential amenities to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
Outdoors, the grounds feature fruit trees and raised garden beds, adding to the peaceful rural charm. Just next door lies Hauharua Park Reserve, a 22 acre public reserve with walking tracks and direct beach access. The land was intentionally sold by the Thorne/Plummer family to ensure it was preserved for the public rather than being privately developed. The reserve’s rich Māori and Pākehā history is thoughtfully documented on the on site noticeboards, complete with historical photographs.
A favourite local spot is the beach near the pine trees in the lower part of the reserve, an ideal place for afternoon or evening swims, fishing, or simply enjoying a drink while watching the sun set behind the Kaimai Ranges, particularly at high tide when the water fills the channel in front of the pines.
For those who enjoy cycling, a key highlight is the well maintained coastal cycleway that runs all the way to Tauranga. This scenic route is especially stunning between Plummers Point Road and Omokoroa and is popular with locals and visitors alike.
Bayview Cottage offers a rare blend of privacy, natural beauty, and outdoor recreation—making it the perfect base for a memorable Bay of Plenty coastal getaway.
Please note that there are security cameras, placed in the outdoor areas that will be operating for added security during your stay.
Guests are asked not to park on grassed areas or the lawns within the property as the paddock is not included for guest use. One vehicle may be parked carefully in the remaining carport space.
