Wonderful hotel - 10 min walk to S. Marco piazza. Room was large and very comfortable. Staff at desk very helpful answering questions and giving dining recommendations. Hotel right on the canal and took gondola ride right from the door of the hotel. Breakfast very nice too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Excelsior. This was our first time in Venice and the first stay of our honeymoon and it was a great experience! We enjoyed using the provided boat taxi to and from Venice, along with the private beach access and dining options at the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was also great. We would recommend this stay for a trip to Venice!

Best thing we saw in Venice. The big Titian is being restored, a huge poster in its place. I could have cried when I realized, but then there was the other one. The Pesaro Madonna. Beyond expectations. Touched me to the very core.Titian’s tomb and monument completely wrap it up. Blew us away. Unforgettable. As if that weren’t enough, Donatello’s John the Baptist. It’s right there. Don’t miss this place.

Venice Mask - Master Workshop

Definitely not a tourist trap if you want to get a traditional and authentic handmade mask from Venezia.

They even got the traditional 'Moretta' - a black mask for upper class woman. You can't speak at all when you wear the mask, as you have to hold it with a button in your mouth!

1) design and build the clay for moulding
2) get it moulded
3) paste papers inside the mould with white glue and let it dry
4) touch up and decoration
