The hotel is central and accessible in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was basically clean and functional. Staff were helpful but not always available. The Indian restaurant smells pervaded the spaces. Overall, the hotel is in dire need of refurbishment.

Basel a great place to stay

Great location, parking off site but limited and a 3 minute walk. Not a lot of parking elsewhere for long term. Excellent location great walks in to town. Restaurants and shops everywhere.

it was close to the marktplatz, where we got trams and buses to get to places. There was no bar though! I'd stay there again b/c of the location

Efficient check in. Room was nice and large with comfortable beds. The bathroom was very typical of European hotels. Area is great and close to “Old Town” where one may enjoy restaurants, bakeries and bars. We were given free tram/bus ride tickets for the duration of our stay.

Nice place, good value.

Nice hotel, well situated on the edge of the Old Town. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the bedding very fresh. Given the prices of everything else in Basel, this hotel was fantastic value. It’s basic, but nice. There’s a tram stop just outside which makes getting around really easy.

Not bad accommodation. Conveniently located close to old town. Pillows were awful and main desk was unable find more because the service person had the day off. Also locked us out at 8pm. Had to ring offsite number to get a pin. Lucky we had phone service on holiday sim. All and all not bad but hard to recommend

The hotel is easy access by bus or tram, so look it up before you arrive. Walking with Google map to hotel is a bad choice. The staff is great, the restraunt is good, the breakfast is ok, the room was good, but the bed was creaky and just ok.

The hotel is located in an attractive spot with a tram nearby. Unfortunately, the property is extremely dated and smells quite musty. The carpeting in the room was very stained and rippled. The bed was comfortable. Would not recommend.

Very Disappointing Stay

The hotel building is very old and poorly maintained. The reception staff were unprofessional and unfriendly when speaking with tourists. The mattress was extremely soft — after sleeping on it, it felt like a hole had formed, and I woke up with back pain. The entire building had a strong garlic smell, which was unpleasant. There was no extra toilet paper in the room, even though we were four people staying there. When I asked reception for more, they told me, “This is enough for you, you don’t need more,” which I found rude and unacceptable. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Small hotel in old town Basel.

Paid for at time of arrival, and this was the first card activity upon reaching European soil and after notifying our card company we were traveling. Immediately received notice of questionable activity on our credit card of purchases to an Indian online clothing store and one other. This hotel is, I believe, under Indian management as they had an Indian restaurant and signs up for Ayurveda. Buyer beware

This property might be an option for those on extreme budget, but in general I would not recommend. The room does not have AC. Opening the windows in our case meant taking it off the hinge and laying it open. Minimal fan. Open windows also meant exposure to traffic noise - this property is on a tram route - as well as insects. Water in shower drain backed up. TV remote batteries were corroded in place. We tried to cancel after one night of a two night reservation. Owner would not refund second night.... Recommend to avoid and I am a bit surprised it is listed on the Orbitz site.....
