Zum Einchecken wurde mein Ausweis kopiert und ich musste 100 Franken Kaution hinterlegen. Danach wurde der Aufenthalt erfreulicher. Hotel und Zimmer waren einwandfrei. Sauber und ordentlich, die Menschen freundlich, die Nächte ruhig. Es gab verschiedene Annehmlichkeiten, wie Kaffee und Wasser (leider wurde nicht nachgefüllt) und insgesamt nahm alles einen guten Verlauf. Den Übernachtungsgäste stehen die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel kostenlos zur Verfügung. Lediglich die Nutzung des Aufzugs im Hotel ist eine Herausforderung für sich. Ich will hier nicht zuviel verraten, aber ich landete häufig im Keller.

All the staff at the hotel were exceptionally kind and dedicated. It was truly touching. I couldn't connect with the reception by phone, but a staff member, noticing that the phone had rung three times without an answer, came up to my room very late at night to check if there was any problem. The next day, I went outside briefly and got completely drenched by an unexpected rain. The staff kindly provided a space in the spa where I could change my clothes. Since I had to go straight to the airport, I was extremely grateful that I didn't have to travel in wet clothes. Although the strong smell of disinfectant in the hallway and the inconvient Wi-Fi connection need to be addressed, the thoughtfulness of the staff is the reason why I would want to stay at this hotel again despite these issues.

Love to stay there. Either on work trips or even with kids during family visits. The rooms are very quiet. Beds are super comfy. The room temperature can be adjusted easily. Every detail is high quality. Staying a few hours in the room to do some work is very comfortable. The rooms are a bit on the small side though. I suggest to book a room on the higher floors. Otherwise you may look straight into the office building next door. In my opinion the in-room dining could have a few more options. I usually book without breakfast and walk to one of the many cafes nearby. The staff is sensational. They really care.

I decided to spend the weekend in Basel instead of being on a train for 22 hours. This hotel is walking distance to the Basel train station and easy to walk around the city from this location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, great breakfast option, nice restaurant in the hotel. There was a weird chemical smell in the hallway - some sort of cleaner, thankfully the room didn't smell like that.

Good but could do better
This hotel is perhaps the best in Basel for style and service. Couple of issues with the hotel. The restaurant needs a wake up call. Same menu for months - have some imagination please! Not expecting anything too exciting - it’s Switzerland- but something different. Also - find a way of cool down the rooms in the evening- those shutters don’t work!

Our stay here was wonderful! Everything was perfect. The employees were very nice and the room was great. It was spacious, very clean and the interior design paid a lot of attention to detail. We really loved it there and will return the next time we‘re in Basel.
