"I reached out the first night because multiple advertised amenities were not available. The front desk while very nice was unable to assist. I tried reaching someone via the phone numbers published just to get AvantStay… not the actual person at the property. Arrival was a disaster, but once we finally got checked in, the room was nice. But we were very disappointed to find the rooftop lounge area advertised was an AI rendering. We love promoting boutique hotels and honestly we prefer them to the mundane run of the mill chains that are all the same. We are also in the film industry and have been considering the idea of purchasing a condo. However, when bringing these issues to the attention of the Code, stall tactics were used to delay any resolution and we were finally told that the hotel would reach out to us within two days of checkout - we are well traveled and know a brush off when we hear/read/see one - we gave the Code an opportunity to do the right thing - which they did not. So… unfortunately we cannot recommend this hotel and will not recommend it to other film industry companies, members, and professionals, whether local or from other areas and markets such as Los Angeles, New York, Europe, Japan, and so forth. It was a great idea in theory… but perhaps they should have delayed opening for 6 months until they finished ironing out many issues. "

"We had a great stay at the Carpenter Hotel. We love the cafe and restaurant, and finally decided to splurge on a hotel room for the weekend. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, clean, and well designed. The balcony had a great view of the pool and a bit of the city. It’s central to great shopping areas like South Congress, a walk away from Zilker Park and Lady Bird Lake Trail, and easy to rent a scooter to get around the city. Would 10/10 stay again!"

"Booked a studio suite and ended up on the 3rd floor next to the main road. Crazy noisy at night and in the morning coz the coffee shop is right there. Staff didn’t even bother to ask how the stay was, else this could have been a feedback at the front desk. The restaurant, Nido, was great as always, but never coming back to the hotel. Also, staff at the coffee shop was rude! "

"There was no notice that this hotel was under renovations when we made our reservation. Otherwise, we would have booked elsewhere. Only one elevator was functional and very slow due to guests, staff and construction workers using it. In our room we had a trickle of water out of the faucet and no water in the shower. We were told that it would be a short fix but the pressure was never enough to be able to shower. There was no hot breakfast due to the kitchen being closed(one reason we chose the hotel) but a "grab bag" would available the next morning with snacks. When we checked out and asked for one, we were told they were out. There was no apologies for the conditions. This is not typical of La Quinta properties but it does make me question ever staying at another. "

"The property worked for our dogs; however, we did not use the backyard due to concern about mushrooms growing my the tree and not trusting our dogs to stay away from them.The rooms were of reasonable size - especially the back bedroom. Kitchen was well stocked with supplies. Having a washer and dryer was great.There was a problem with trash can. It didn't get picked up by the city on Tuesday; which I notified the owners about. On Tuesday night or Wednesday morning it tipped over (raccoons or some other critter I would guess), and it took until Friday for the owners to clean it up."
