We had a good stay in Avila beach at the property. The problems didn’t come until after. We were told we would get details and a contract the week before our stay. The email did not come through till the day after returning home. So when checking out we were not aware of any checkout procedures. We did not find any information in the unit as well. We are a very clean and responsible family. About a week after our stay I got an email on the refund of our deposit and it wasn’t the full amount. Just a receipt with no explanation or communication. When I called the rental company they were very deflecting and wouldn’t take responsibility for the lack of communication or contract standards. They told me they charged me for not dumping the trash and housekeeping found “vomit” in the bathroom. There definitely was not any vomit of any kind from me and my family left in the unit! I’m not sure how they can charge for standards in a contract that wasn’t even provided until after our stay, nor was posted anywhere in the unit. There seemed to be bad communication between Vrbo, the property company, and the actual property housekeeping. The representative over the phone was disrespectful, rude, and only would find ways to blame the customer. Overall, great stay till a situation came up with the property company that required responsible communication.
