Room was very small, internet was not connecting with the smart TV on wheels… No sound proofing can hear other room very loud, broken window handles, could not figure out the A/C … complaint to front desk about noise and nothing was done… complaint about internet connection and was told to push TV against bathroom door to be able to connect to the internet

I chose this hotel, a lot of reviews from so many because of the pictures on the website. The room was spacious, and staying high above Catalina to look over the beautiful water and the city lights at night was definitely 5-Star. It was a very nice continental breakfast provided of eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, and muffins or toast. Fresh coffee and orange juice and a nice dining space with seating on an outdoor patio over the canyon view was very lovely. The shuttle drivers were very friendly as was the manager in front office. The breakfast staff were extraordinarily kind. The lodging was comfortable and the tile in the bathrooms was beautiful and updated. My only suggestion is the poolside furniture is not at all what it look like in the pictures on the website. My suggestion would be to upgrade the patio furniture around the pool again as it may have become dated and worn out, there should be nice furniture on the deck on top looking over the whole city, which was an amazing view. I wish the fire pit and the outdoor lights had been lit on a Monday night Sunday night just for ambience. But it was a very easy walk into town and a shuttle is not needed but nice going up the hill as they bring your baggage with courtesy pick up and drop off to the Catalina ferry. Overall, our stay was positive and I would recommend staying here again.

Even with the sign on the door, no one came to service your room unless you asked them to. The toilet seat was broken. With such low occupancy you’d think they’d pay more attention to detail and where they chose to place you.

Omg this place was amazing the staff was so welcoming and friendly… Pablo and Daniel made it feel like home. Definitely will be coming here again. I recommend if anyone is looking for a romantic stay with a beautiful view at the suites. Rooms are very clean and spacious. It was our first time and it was a very pleasant experience.

This property was absolutely darling, we had the pleasure of staying in a room with a balcony and got to enjoy the island views all evening long. The shuttle service from the fairy up was super easy as well as getting to and from the main street back up. Every interaction we had w the staff was super friendly. We can’t wait to book another trip here and stay again.

My friends and I were there for a race and had to check out very early. The staff was super helpful and accommodating getting our bags stored for us and delivering them to the ferry later. I haven’t experienced such excellent customer service in quite sometime and it was very refreshing to know that still exists!

Our door handle was broken when we checked in. It took a while to get in as a result. We were also surprised by the lack of glassware. Given that the room cost so much, we would expect at least real glasses (not plastic) and wine glasses. Otherwise the staff was great and it truly was a magnificent room with views to die for!

I wish the windows in the room would be able to open and weren’t drywall screwed shut. All the bright green lights on all the smoke detectors and AC units in the room illuminated the room at night so it made it hard to sleep the fan setting & AC as well as the heating unit would not adjust properly so the room was a sweat box. The flow of air was inconsistent. I felt like it turned off and came on way too much or too little.

Me and my parents stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The views were stunning. Looking down from the hilltop, you can see the Avalon town and the coastline stretching out. Inside, the suite beautifully captures Pueblo-style architecture, and you can really feel the history of the place, knowing it was once home to Zane Grey. Staying there felt like being part of a living landmark. The only minor downsides were a few maintenance issues. The double doors leading into the bathroom didn’t function smoothly and were difficult to open and close, so that may be something the owner would want to check. Also, when we arrived, the stairwell light near the patio was flashing—possibly an issue with the sensor or batteries. Aside from that, the property was wonderful. It’s very private, quiet, and peaceful. The golf cart service to and from the town was a great touch and made getting around easy and convenient. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay—serene, unique, and unforgettable.

DISAPPOINTED. The hotel is nice from afar and photos. But our experience there was quite disappointing. Disappointment 1. The hotel reception area was dark and two of the front desk personnel seemed to not want to be there, whenever we went to the receptionist area. Disappointment 2. My husband had ordered champagne and flowers to be at the room upon our arrival (Thursday) but there was nothing. Once my husband came to reception and asked about them, she mentioned it was scheduled for the next day. Still, We did not received flowers or champagne the next day (Friday), and no note or communication. On the way to our Friday evening dinner, we checked at the front desk. Flowers and champagne were listed on our bill but there was no note on delivery and receptionist informed us that bc there was nothing in their notes, then that is why they were not delivered. No apologies at all. We requested the flowers and champagne to be removed and the receptionist did. Still no apology. Disappointment 3. The hotel receptionists were unaccommodating and seemed to have little interest in us as hotel guests. We would have to ask questions that hotel receptionists normally freely and happily provide upon arrival. There was a sense of just doing a job and not enjoying it. Receptionists were absolutely not personable. And this is usually one’s first and last impression. Disappointment 4. The walls/ceiling of the older part of the hotel were not at all soundproof. Luxurious hotel located in one of the highest points of the island. Beautiful views, spacious and convenient. Will definitely be back.

The hotel had the best view of Catalina! The rooms were small, but very nice. The hotel staff was amazing and the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Catalina!
