Great location, nice size room. Kettle on the room, (could do with a few more tea bags and milk cartons).
Really Quiet, I thought I'd hear noises but I didn't hear anything. Good dark curtains to keep the light out. Staff allowed me to park and follow a trail that is literally behind the pub. There is a restaurant (I didn't try the food, but I did have a nice beer of the evening).
Stayed here a few times. Lovely staff, great breakfast, fantastic location.

Website not updated. Staff struggled to give correct information.Lovely quite room, hotel has so much potential but lacking in many areas. When teething problems ironed out I'm sure it will be a great place to stay in an outstandingly beautiful area.
Such an amazing room felt so comfortable staff are amazing room was amazing for the price I paid. I have the most amazing stay with my partner and I will definitely be going back again
Breakfast was lovely too
Nice hotel, breakfast was good. Wouldve like the restaurant to be open in the evening.
Bar hosted by 'Kev' was a really friendly and helpful guy, made the stay much better and would give him 5* for service.
Nice area near walking trail. Room was ok, a little dated but clean.Hosts very friendly and helpful and cooked full english breakfast to order.Next to a cow farm, ok if you are not averse to farming smells
The family room we booked was spacious and comfy. It was quiet which suited us, although the hotel does have a games room and a bar. We went to Ashdown town for dinner. Breakfast was decent as well. I liked it

Adequate in good location for Derbyshire visits
An adequate base for a visit to Ashbourne and beyond into Derbyshire. A bit tired and dated, but provides everything you need. No view, only one small window over the kitchen sink, facing the courtyard car park and road beyond. Other windows are skylights.Be prepared for the farmyard smells, cattle sheds are immediately behind. We'd use again for a short break, but nothing longer.
The staff were all really attentive and friendly. The food was delicious! There are still some renovations going on but it didn’t spoil our stay. It’s going to be lovely when it’s completed. Thanks for a great stay.
Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay
Absolutely fantastic break for myself and partner and 2 dogs. Huge room, spotless facilities and very dog friendly. Breakfast was very generous with so much choice. Beautiful gardens and the hotel sits adjacent to the Tissington Trail. So many beauty spots within a short driving distance or cycle ride. Staff were so friendly and helpful also. Could not fault this hotel for the very reasonable price.
