Location of the villa is briliant. Just a few minutes walk from the village of Plaka which has a few bars and restuarants plus a couple of supermarkets. The transfer from Chania airport was around 30 minutes and a very pleasant drive along the coast.
The villa itself is split into two, two bedroomed properties so suitable for sharing families or friends. One villa is on the upper floor and has fabulous views across the bay and the second villa has access to the large terrace overlooking the pool and enjoying the fabulous view also. There is a large barbeque area on the terrace and plenty of seating for eating, drinking and generally being merry! Tip - the terrace gets very hot during the evening as the sun is setting so don't make the mistake of eating out too early.
The pool is a good size with four sun loungers to enjoy the sunshine. The pool area gets the sun for the most of the day and the glass wall lets you enjoy the uniterrupted view of the mountains and the coastline. Unfortunately, during our 12 day stay, the pool was not cleaned and there wasn't any pool equipment (scoop etc) to enable us to do it ourselves.
The other downside to this property is the WiFi. The speed is atrocious and drops every five to ten minutes, which made watching movies on a streaming service impossible. It was also not a favourite aspect of the holiday for two teenagers who wanted to be online.
Both villas were well equipped with plenty of crockery and kitchen accessories (dishwasher tabs included) along with a lovely set of toiletries, loo roll, and fluffy white towels. We had a linen change five days into the holiday which was great and were provided with large pool towels so we didn't have to use the bathroom ones.
All in all a great villa in a fabulous location with an amazing view. We had considered returning next year for a few weeks to work (as we work from home) but the only thing stopping us is the WiFi.
