Andy Romano Beachfront Park

It hurts my heart to write this, but even with the grace you give a hotel under construction (which wasn’t made wildly clear at the point of booking), Dune House was lacking in so many of the things I expected from a luxury oceanfront resort. For context, I have stayed at its predecessor, One Ocean, many times in the past and I assumed there would be a decor change and not much else. I was wrong. The character has been stripped from the property from the moment you arrive. No more beautiful hallway, albeit a bigger restaurant. Reception is no longer in the front atrium, that is just a mish mash of unused furniture zones, and instead it’s tucked away upstairs. Currently, it’s a temporary desk, but eventually it will be next to the ocean view windows where the spa entrance used to be. It isn’t a logical spot from my point of view, but I also don’t know what will fill the former spa space. The pool remains unchanged but also a bit unkept. There was sand in the pool, tiles had fallen off and the poolside bathroom was run down. The lounge chairs, however, were extremely comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. I have to say the staff was 10/10, lovely and helpful. But they didn’t have much to work with as so much still wasn’t open despite opening in March (!). There’s no longer a resort fee that I could tell, but with that went the cute snack bar in the room and just the general luxury feel. I am sure it will get there eventually, but just go into it with eyes open until such time.

This was such a nice place to stay. The staff were all so nice and friendly. The room was lovely and had great little touches (like bottles of water). The restaurant next door was a nice addition as well. Overall would recommend this place and would stay here again.
