This place was a perfect decompress from a week in Amsterdam. It's a bit of a walk into Aalsmeer so if you don't have a car I highly recommend renting a bike in town. The shop there is great and it's an easy ride to the Amsterdam Forest and there's a lovely route around the lake as well. It's not really a "houseboat", more like a house on the water as it is a permanent house not a "boat".
It's quiet and the view is lovely. The back deck is a wonderful place to hang out.
There were a few issues while we were there and Erika was prompt in responding. The longer we were there (we were there for a week) the more wear and tear we started to notice but it didn't really affect our stay.
The sauna and jacuzzi tub were awesome. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed but some of the cookware needs to be replaced as it's pretty obvious someone who didn't know how to use an induction cooktop used some of the pieces and they are no longer useable.
It took us a bit to figure out the oven even with the manual, but we did.
If you like birds, there are plenty. We weren't there for two hours before there was a duck quacking at us from the deck. She prefers oatmeal to peas, btw.
All in all it is a good place to stay and we would stay there again.
