A small inn with just 5 rooms with personable and helpful English speaking staff. Located just outside the touristy area of town but within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. Note that hotel is not accessible by car but is an easy 10 minute walk through town. You can hire a porter at the town entrance if you don’t want to walk to hotel by foot. Note that once at the inn, you need go about 10-15 stairs before reaching the lift. Lovely view of the water from the breakfast dining area.

Excellent hotel, the staff were all friendly, the view from the terrace is 10 out of 10. Breakfast options were very good, and it’s nice being above the busyness of the city centre. Nice and peaceful in the evening. The beach in Amalfi was beautiful, great swimming. I drove from Sorrento to Amalfi, I wouldn’t do that. Next time I’d use a bus or car service. Again, a really nice hotel..cheers

Villa Lara is a quiet little place about 10 minutes from the bustling downtown area of Amalfi. It has a beautiful view of the coast and of the beautiful mountains. The outdoor patio is a perfect place to sit in the mornings to enjoy some peace and the quietness of the coast. The staff are very friendly and they make you feel like you are a part of their family.

Amazing hotel with great view, room and service!

The best hotel we have stayed in Italy so far. The service was amazing, the rooms clean & comfortable and the view is incredible. Quiet hotel yet really convenient for the town. Variety of breakfast choices and really enjoyed a drink in the evening over looking the town. Thoroughly recommend!!

A lovely find near port and shopping, yet so quiet with an incredible view. With only 7 rooms, it feels like you’re in someone’s own house.

Great location. Staff were extremely helpful. Elevator from the street level to the top level which is approximately four flights of stairs up broke down on the day we were leaving and the staff had to help us carry our luggage down the exterior old stairs.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Lara for 5 days in early October 2024 and it was a fantastic visit. The owner and staff were outstanding - very helpful with questions about local attractions, restaurants and transportation. The Villa is very clean, the breakfasts were excellent and the view from the Villa's balcony/breakfast area was stunning. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

Villa Lara is a truly lovely place to stay in Amalfi It is close to the centre yet when you are in the villa it is tranquil and views are amazing It is so nice and clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful, breakfast on the terrace is just wonderful! Excellent property, highly recommend it. It is in a walkable distance to the main Amalfi church, shops and restaurants, but in a quiet location. We missed to connect with the staff in advance, they can provide great recommendations to plan your trip.

By far one of my favorite stays while I traveled across Italy. The people running this resort were incredibly nice and offered lots of help with transportation. They do a great job communicating with their clients and helped set up a private driver for us to get from Amalfi back to Rome
