Son Bou itself is quiet with a number of restaurants- it was ok as we were only here 4 nights but I think if you were staying for 10 days / 2 weeks there wouldn’t be enough choice. The hotel is located at the top of a hill above Son Bou. It is walkable but the hotel lay on a regular shuttle bus to and from Son Bou which is really great. We had a Superior Balcony room which i believe had been refurbished. The room was clean, comfy bed. The shower was good. Our air conditioning didn’t work brilliantly but reception staff were very helpful and sent a technician to look at it. Two things we didn’t like: There is an in room safe but it costs 3 euro a day to use it - this was waived for us but it’s really not acceptable to be charging to use a safe in the room. Also pool towels are 1 euro if you want clean ones! This is poor. If you want a hotel in a quiet location, with pool and evening entertainment then this may be ok for you. This isn’t what we enjoy therefore we wouldn’t return. However staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.

We stayed in the main hotel so can't comment on the apartments. The hotel is a low rise 4 storey building, spotlessly clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything in our room worked well with good water pressure and hot water supply. The room was also large and airy with effective AC. The beds were very supportive and comfortable and the windows kept any evening entertainment noise out. The range of food in the restaurant at dinner was really good. They do a different theme each night and really make an effort to provide variety. Breakfast is also very good with a wide range of hot and cold offerings. The outdoor pool is large and well maintained, as is the whole pool area which is cleaned regularly throughout the day. Activities, if you wish to participate, run all through the day. The hotel is mid-80s I guess so some things show this e.g. a bidet, a shower curtain for a shower over the bath. I think it is undergoing a continuous refresh so the occasional old fashioned style did not present any problems. Points to note: The main restaurant can become busy in the middle of the dinner serving window so there can be a short wait to get a table at peak times. There is a shuttle bus which runs to the beach as the hotel is at the top of a very steep and long hill. (We had a rental car so did not need to use this service.) Overall a very good hotel which makes up through excellent service what it lacks in the latest decor!

I knew the reviews were good before we left but they surpassed all expectations, the food was superb, the staff ultra polite and helpful, the pool and entertainment were excellent, the access to the beach and shops was easy with the free and frequent shuttle service. I would absoloutely recommend this hotel to anyone (especially families).
