Basic but comfortable
Was a bit apprehensive booking this after reading a lot of bad reviews about the cleanliness, however my room was perfectly clean. It’s very basic and definitely a bit tired but is pretty much what I’d expect for the price and type of accommodation. Shower was very bad though, at some points just big drops of water. Events at Boaty’s made for fun evenings and good food there too, although due to the size / setup doesn’t lend itself so easily to solo travellers meeting people apart from in the dorms / if you’re already coming with others.
Lovely treed property with lots of birds. Close to shops and restaurants.

Very good value and position is excellent walking distance to all the shops clubs beach and marina rooms very spacious
Only mugs spoon plus tea coffee sugar, everything else is great. Staff are really helpful
X Base Resort is primarily a cheap backpackers resort catering to young travellers who share rooms to keep costs down. Regular adult travellers or families booking rooms alone are not financially better off and the resort is highly geared for the teenage backpacker with an abundance of nightly noise.
Our room was terrible, broken window with wood over it, broken door lock, mold and asbestos warning labels. This is a cheap back pack hotel and not a resort-look elsewhere in town.

This is essentially a backpackers and really should say in the wotif details, as I would never have booked to stay.
Queen room. 1 x single bed blanket. Went to reception and the could only get 2 knee rugs.
Another guest was playing loud rap until 4am.
This is not a motel or resort. It’s a broken down backpackers. Window coverings do not cover windows even nearly. Dirty bathroom. Door lock barely hanging on so left valuables in the car which is parked in their camping ground area. All in all the worst place I’ve stayed in 40 years including Asia.
Overall it was a very lovely stay, the 6 mixt dorm room were big with airconditioning. Nice little resort, it's fairly big with campers area, tents and dorms. The biggest down point is the staff. They work badly and they are disappointingly rude. The way they clean the dorm is very incongruous as they over water the tiles which is not only hazardous but definitely unsanitary as puddles of water stay for hours on end before to dry. I put a sheet around the bottom bunk to get myself cozy, which wasn't disturbing anyone and the cleaning staff literally ripped it off and remove any form of configuration. First time a backpack does that, still wondering why. The kitchen is way too small for the number of people and the appliances are overly worn, particularly the pans which are in beyond bad condition. I would recommend to bring your cooking gears.
If you don't take in consideration the very rude staff, it's a great place to say!
Yes its a backpacker place. But the rooms and the whole area needs bit TLC. We had unpleasant view of some male backpackers have a shower in donga next to us cause the bathroom window was smash and the glass was not really private.

Staff very unfriendly, not professional, when they work because it suppose to be open in a morning but is no one there or just a note saying " im back in 1h", the receptionists are not organised at all. The worst camping and hostel I stayed. I very do not recommend this place
Good vibes, quiet rooms. The workers were very accommodating and lovely to talk to.
Only downside was that the bathroom didn't have a drain, or shower curtain to stop shower water going all over the floor. Also didn't have a plug for the spa bath. The spa bath was also not working.
Don’t be fooled by the relatively nice images on their website. The moment I walked through the door was when I realised I made a massive mistake staying at the ‘resort’. The room was nothing more than 4 brick walls and patches of falling roof. thankfully we had our own shower and toilet (which looked like it has never been cleaned). Being somewhat cool at the time I stayed at the accomodation, I was provided a ‘blanket’... which was probably a 40cm by 40cm square piece of cotton fleece...
Overall, put it this way... I’d sooner sleep in my car than stay here again...
It’s hard to find words to describe this place. Late check in, reception area was filthy, stained couches that we were asked to sit on while waiting for our room to be ready. Husband and I walked into the room noticed stains on the sheets and two of our pillows straight away. No blankets. One towel was full of holes, other towel had stains. Absolutely no amenities except for dirty coffee cups. Save yourself the money, it’s just not great, nothing like the photos that is posted on the website. Felt like I was in a horror movie.
This place was awful and I would not recommend it to anyone except backpackers. Apart from the dirty shower etc there was no blanket in the room, only a sheet on the bed and no remote for the TV. So we walked to the office which was quite a walk, ( this was a cabin in a caravan park) and asked for a blanket and she gave us 2 cot size blankets as per the photo. We said we didn’t think that would be enough, so she gave us ONE more of the same. She found a remote, so back we came. On the way out another girl saw the blankets and felt sorry for us so found us a couple of single bed size ones!! The remote didn’t work so we took it back and they put new batteries in it. It still didn’t work so we gave up! They seem to be associated with a pub/club next door which had very loud music until 3am. Fortunately we were far enough away that it didn’t bother us too much. One of the steps to our room was rotten and broken off. They told us there were coffee making facilities in the room. That consisted of an electric kettle. No cups or spoons. The receptionist was polite at best. Certainly not friendly, welcoming or helpful. The whole place us run down and awful. The only thing going for it is the location.
