"Impressive building, right on the seafront, nice character. Really lovely staff and service. Nice decor in the rooms, furnished to a high standard, big beds, nice linen and many pillows! We were kindly upgraded (bc Gold Hotels.com member?) to a sea view room, which was lovely. Despite the rain getting in and soaking the carpet by the French windows (just an upkeep issue). Every room is designed so it is completely private, so you can have the curtains open on the entire glass wall in the bedroom and look out over the Bay of Biscay, and soak in the tub while inhaling the ocean air. You are practically outside. They really take care of you, here. They have a spa, and they are attached to the Akelarre Restaurant (3 Michelin stars) that started it all. "

It felt like being in school with some very strict and judgmental head teachers who monitored our every move. Having paid 310 euros per night, I expect to be able to feel at home and use the facilities that are advertised.
