"We needed to stay in the Iwakuni area to visit family. The Sun Hotel in Otake gave us a great location; easy walk to the train station for getting to Iwakuni, Miyajima Island and Hiroshima. It was also an easy walk to restaurants in Otake, and a short cab ride to Simose Art Museum. The property was well maintained, clean, and we enjoyed the Japanese breakfast buffet. The best part of the stay was the incredibly helpful, friendly, and thoughtful staff. I cannot express how wonderful they were...

"The room was in a beautiful location overlooking the Kentai Bridge. The staff were very lovely and helpful. Had a very authentic Japanese Inn feel, really enjoyed this place. The breakfast was definitely traditional Japanese."

"This hotel is a real gem - one of the best we've found in Japan. It's small, only 12-15 rooms, but very well appointed -- the rooms are large (by Japanese standards) and modern. The staff were very friendly, the onsen was excellent, and the food was terrific! The hotel is out in the countryside, and is not far from the Akiyoshido Cave, which is the primary attraction in the region."
