"Staff is nice and kind"

"Lovely mountain retreat, very stylish. Unfortunately unable to accommodate our 12year old daughter - even when we booked the room for 3 people. There were only 2 beds provided so she would have to sleep between us. The hotel refused to put up a futon for her so she had to sleep on the chairs. Shocking, seeing that all the other hotels we stayed in provided a bed or a sofa bed for her."

"We stayed here with our rental car to explore and see Fuji. We could walk to a lot of cool restaurants. Drinks in the hotel bar were nice with the view of the hotel grounds and mountains. "

"This hotel is an experience. It's an isolated location on a mountain side, but the hotel decor is almost a museum and worthy of being a destination in itself. On top of that, the exterior private baths are absolutely amazing, we booked them multiple times per day. Every meal was exceptional. Thank you for the beautiful memories!"

"This is a very luxurious hotel with a nice onsen. Beautiful gardens and incredible view of Mt Fuji if you are on the garden side which I think on the rooms are facing the garden and lake. Nice paths through the trees to the shrine and “downtown” area but don’t plan a run, it’s made of cobblestone type bricks so your ankles would suffer. Shuttle to/from downtown every 20 minutes if you don’t want to walk. "

"Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Staff was really polite and helpful. On site onsen was a bonus. My only criticism would be the room was too hot as it was a central control system for the whole hotel. Note it is an up hill walk to the hotel "

"This is an old ryokan located just a few hundred meters from Gora train station and you pay for authenticity and atmosphere of old Japan. Our suite was spacious and surrounded by views of woods and gardens. Staff was superb, spoke perfectly adequate English and tried to be helpful and accommodating. The multi course Kaiseki dinner as well as a typical Japanese breakfast completed the experience. We had access to a small private indoor Onsen in which we soaked more than once. Overall this was a...
