Once you arrive in Vevey you will understand why it is one of the most visited destinations in the Swiss Riviera. Located on the northeast end of Lake Geneva, this city combines old town charm with a bustling cultural scene.

Explore the Old Town by foot. Vevey’s ancient quarter is remarkably well preserved. Browse local crafts or enjoy a drink at a quaint café. Grande Place is in the heart of the Old Town. This large square offers views across Lake Geneva. Visit its Tuesday and Saturday markets, when vendors offer flowers, fresh foods and even wine.

Vevey is the global headquarters of Nestlé, one of the world’s largest food companies. Learn all about nutrition at Nestlé’s Alimentarium museum. Cooking studios, interactive exhibits and plenty of food samples make this a fascinating attraction.

Visit the Charlie Chaplin Statue, which faces out over Lake Geneva from the waterfront promenade. Chaplin spent the last two decades of his life in Vevey. His family home, Manoir de Ban, is one of the finest in the city.

Although it is closed to the public, stroll around Aile Castle. Its commanding façade and soaring spires are a great example of 19th-century Swiss architecture.

The land beyond Vevey is known for producing excellent wine. To see for yourself, board the Train des Vignes (Vine Train) and tour the vineyards of Lavaux for a wine tasting.

Take a short trip aboard the Train des Étoiles (Star Train) to Les Pléiades, the nearby mountain at the foothills of the Alps. At the top, enjoy fantastic panoramic views. Ski, hike, paraglide and meditate from the summit.

For a novel experience, take a boat cruise on Lake Geneva. Vevey has direct routes to Lausanne. Vevey is also easily accessible by train or car.
