Ikei Island Ski Vacations

This place was great to wait out the typhoon, we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet it had lots of different choices. The hotel itself was ok. The mattresses were very uncomfortable as was the 1 pillow it gave each bed. There was microwaves on one floor only and no irons in the rooms for clothes. We had asked for one but they never ended up bringing it to us.

It is the best accommodation except that there are no convenience stores or restaurants nearby.

We absolutely loved our room. Spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Gorgeous view from the balcony. Highly recommend! Only complaints are minor. The staff did not speak much English so be prepared for that. Also you cannot use the gym if you do not have designated indoor only gym shoes so be aware of that as well. Great location and nice restaurants at the hotel as well. 2 beautiful pools. Would stay there again!

The hotel itself is clean and updated. The rooms are spacious. It was a lot of families and young kids running around having fun. zero romance and not where I would go if it was just my husband and me. The staff is friendly, helpful and no shortage of towels. The breakfast Buffett was mediocre and very expensive for what was offered. There are other alternatives which were pricier. We ate at all the restaurants and they offered Shani Shani, pre selected meals (we had to do these a week ahead of arrival). No spontaneity there. The gym was clean and staff attentive. The pools are warm and views are beautiful especially at sunset. BUT the ocean is not swimmable so it’s a long way to go and not really enjoy the ocean due to rip tides, sting rays and sea snakes. There are not a lot of activities going on so really just sitting at the adult pools. One adult pool by the kids pool had service and the other was scarce. Again, if you’re looking for a fun place with young kids while checking out Japan, this is the spot.

Had an amazing stay at this place. We hired a car, so everything was in close proximity when driving, beach, snorkeling, supermarket.

My family of 7 had an excellent stay at the Pools Villas on Yagaji Island in Okinawa. Automated check-in was simple, as was checkout. The private pool was clean and the highlight of the trip for my younger kids. Sleeping in the tatami room on futons was a good experience for my older kids. The air conditioning worked well and kept us comfortable in the humid heat. Bathrooms were large and luxurious and the washer/dryer worked well. It was clean and well kept. But be aware this is a tropical place, so there are large spiders and lizards etc. My children enjoyed having a couple of house geckos in the unit to keep them company. And in the pool deck area, I was a bit surprised by what I thought was a very large spider walking around in the evening, but on closer inspection it was just a local Okinawan coconut/hermit crab that had made its home in the yard beside the pool. It's all part of the local experience! If you want to watch your streaming services from home, better to bring your laptop and connect with HDMI to the TV or streaming stick. That's how we watched the FIFA World Cup games. Internet is OK but sometimes slow. We patronized the two restaurants around the corner for breakfast and dinner on a few occasions. Great beaches are nearby - Kouri island is close by. We enjoyed the quietness of Yagaji island. For the first time in my life I could actually see the milky way stretching above in the sky. There is little light pollution so enjoy the stargazing.
