I was given the special room in the top floor of this hotel. The bedroom was spacious and clean. However, the bathroom is very small and awkward to use.

This hotel was a much needed surprise for us. Beautiful room with a great staff. Definitely recommend booking here. Easily accesible with the water bus from the train station.

The air conditioning is centrally controlled by the front desk. You must ask them to turn it on and adjust the temp.

Easy journey to Marco Polo airport from the Carnival hotel on the Aliaguna water bus to Guglie a short walk from the hotel. Lots of good restaurants and aperitif places on the canal outside the hotel. Easy access to all the main sites from Tri Archi vaporetto stop outside the hotel. Much cheaper to get a two or three or more days, water bus pass for as many journeys that you want to take each day. Good safe local neighbourhood to wander about including evenings.

This hotel is in a GREAT location! I will say to pick the type of room you want carefully because we ended up in a room looking into a small alley courtyard with dirty old cleaning equipment stored in there and a bit of an ugly view. We just kept the curtains closed and weren’t in the hotel room much anyways. But for the cost of the room, I definitely expected something a wee bit better. On the upside, it was very quiet! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had good space. The shower had the best water pressure I’ve ever experienced lol I found the room/bathroom to be clean but the bathroom caulking in and around the shower was tattered and stained so it looked like it was dirty. The staff at the front desk were all great and very helpful with navigating the ferry schedules etc.

Beautiful hotel, steeped in history set in an incredible central location very close to St Marks Square. Fantastic staff and service, with the property itself like a museum. The reason for the low rating is the misleading marketing of the hotel. Despite pictures on the hotels website and featured on Expedia, depicting a wonderful roof terrace overlooking the water - this is not available unless a specific suite is booked or private event organised. Also, whilst the hotel is very well located for private airport transfers, this is not included in the price of the booking (upwards of €150+ each way), which again we felt is incorrectly depicted on Expedia (Expedia did provide a level compensation when this was raised).
