Dublin Northside Pet-friendly Vacations

Hotel was clean, breakfast was good quality, staff were friendly. We had just a few issues, 1:Requested a cot on check-in and the cot wasn't in our room when we got back that night (luckily we had a travel cot in the car). 2: Our room was left open after it was cleaned and we were out the whole day. 3: someone must have been re arranging there conference room at 5.30am and woke us up with the sound of tables and chairs being dragged across a floor. Otherwise staff where friendly hotel was clean and the breakfast was good quality.

The hotel is positioned about an 2 min drive from the main road, possibly an 10 minute walk. Arriving by car, there is a massive amount of parking available together with numerous disabled spots close to the main entrance. A very large and elegant foyer with an impressive chandelier and a warm welcome by staff at the reception desk was waiting. Check in was completed quickly & our room selection confirmed. Breakfast is self service and there was a good variety of food on offer to cater for most tastes. The rare 2 dining areas, one being where the breakfast is served and the other being the bar. A variety of bar meals were avavilable, but less in selection if you “fine dined” in the other area. Food costs were reasonable although prices for drinks appeared quite high. It can be a noisey area to eat in the bar we found, perhaps due to the high ceilings. Rooms were clean and well furnished. Bathroom with disability facilities was functional but in our room the was a distinct unpleasant smell from the water that we hadn’t encountered on a previous visit (different room). Value for money, it was a good price for all the facilities provided. Most hotels in Ireland tend to be great value compared to UK hotels. From the main road, a bus can be taken to visit Dublin which is around 2 hrs away. The town of Trim is around a 30min walk from the hotel.

Great place, would stay again

Room was extremely small which I had expected and very well decorated. However, the upkeep was a tiny bit lacking. The shower fixtures didn't seem to work correctly. There was also a random odour in the room and the cleaning staff had simply left a strong air freshener on the ground near the bed as a solution, which only served to make things worse. Also worth noting that there are no parking options at the hotel or nearby. Only on-street parking is available.

Lovely hotel, great location near RDS, Herbert Park, & lovely walks along the Dodder. Ten minute walk to the DART station. Only downside is condo construction on one side of the hotel — so either plan to be out of the room during weekdays, or request a room as far from construction as possible…
