8.8/10 Excellent! (2,836 reviews)
My first night there was a nightmare. We arrived at Omni Parker House (OPH) around 6:30, Thursday, July 17th. The hotel had overbooked rooms and we had no room! I made this reservation at least a month earlier through Expedia. I was supposed to have a deluxe room/King size bed. After several hours, and attempts to appease us with water bottles, they stuck us in what was no bigger than a broom closet with a queen size bed.
We were assured we would have a room when we came down the next morning. Morning became mid-afternoon and we finally got in our room.
The night manager that first night thought he would buy us dinner for our inconvenience. I told him I was not made whole by this gesture so then he just took the dinner away and knocked $150 off the charge (still havent seen that).
They also said we had a destination fee to pay. I showed them my Expedia receipt verifying I paid the destination fee already. The girl behind the counter said destination fees are always paid at the hotel so Expedia made the error.
Half of my trip was a bust because of their incompetence. They were condescending and patronizing. The hotel rooms are no better than Holiday Inn Express, if that good. This hotel tends to think their history makes them still great. They would be wrong.
Awful experience, all the way around.

9/10 Wonderful! (1,550 reviews)
The bed was super comfy. The fridge and coffee maker were appreciated. Parking is attached to the hotel if you select self park (currently $41/day).
We could hear street noise 9 floors up but it eventually quieted down late at night. The indoor pool would have been nice during the brutally hot July visit but it isn’t monitored so the kids jumping/diving/splashing and overall dominating it kept us from utilizing it except for the 10 minutes we went once. The location was Ok but if you want to enjoy the historical sites, book something closer to Faneuil Hall. We averaged 9-10 miles of walking daily. I expected the cleanliness to be better for a 4 star hotel. There were pieces of cellophane/plastic on the carpet in a few places. I opened the toiletry container to see what was in it and a huge, long black hair popped out of it-gross. There are pre-filled bottles of soap, hand cream, shampoo, etc. The hand cream bottle mounted to the wall had hardened drips of cream down the front of the bottle-gross. In the four days and three nights we stayed, our room wasn’t serviced once. We’d leave early in the morning and return around 4pm and no one had visited to make the bed, restock the cups, towels, take out the trash/recycling. Finally, check-in is 4pm. We went to check-in at 3:47 pm and they told us to come back. They are real sticklers to the 4pm check-in time. Oh, concierge service varied greatly depending upon who was working.

Put us in the middle of everything. Newbury Street was an easy walk, as was Fenway. If we wanted to take a Lyft also easy. Our room was spacious
