Werkendam All inclusive Vacations

We appreciated the early check in but there’s no AC in the room, which made it difficult to sleep. Not safe keeping the window open (it’s ground floor - someone can walk in!). Btw the lobby bar didn’t have a wine opener for us to enjoy our French wine in our room before we left. I had to walk to the Standard to get the bottle opened, which was awkward. Not penalizing them for that but odd.

Very short stay to catch an early morning flight. Bar was great for a drink after traveling. Was able to walk to eat dinner

Room was lovely and clean and spacious enough for us both with comfortable beds. The breakfast is nice with several options and seemed fresh and good quality ingredients. The biggest negative was the fact when we arrived we were told the Pool was not available due to maintenance. This was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel and so was extremely disappointed about this and was given no prior notice. If I had known I probably wouldn't have booked this hotel. We weren't offered anything such as late check out etc that may have made it more palatable.

Clean room Breakfast options felt slightly limited

This is an unusual but really lovely hotel , an amalgam of Amsterdam Canal houses, with a lovely garden at its heart. This latter is a special facility and most enjoyable on hot Amsterdam days when footpaths can get congested. BedRoom was snug but very comfortable and well equipped. Two people occupying it needed to consciously stay out of each other’s way. Staff were helpful and friendly. I have marked down on cleanliness because of a single incident - not the general run of cleanliness which is as you would expect in a well-run 5 star establishment. In the Garden, our enjoyment was upset by a teenager - accompanied by his father, both sitting opposite us. The teenager sat with the soles of his boots up on the cushion covers he was sitting on. This was without any consideration for who might sit there after him and what might have accumulated on those soles after walking around the city. The staff member who was taking their drinks order had the opportunity to instruct the teenager to remove his feet from the cushion. He did not. So I felt incumbent on me to do so. The father agreed with me but was otherwise obviously ineffectual. Management should instruct their staff to ensure that guests respect and don’t abuse the hotel amenities and show consideration for their fellow guests. Just basic good manners. Other than that, a lovely stay.

The hotel is ideally located for access to the centre of Maastricht with plenty of dining options nearby in Markt, or a little further away, Vrijthof Square. Maastricht itself made a good base for exploring that part of the Netherlands and for visiting nearby Belgium and Germany.

There was no clothes iron in the room. After I requested one from the front desk, they initially said they were looking for one. Several hours later, the receptionist informed me that they didn’t have any available. This was disappointing and inconvenient, especially since an iron is a basic amenity that many travelers expect.

My red flag is that they should have breakfast included with the price and not as an extra. But also there were fruit flies flying around the bread but whatever there are starving children that would be grateful otherwise. I’m a simple customer and I make the best out all my experiences. The neighborhood around is beautiful. It’s convenient that the location is midpoint between Amsterdam and Zandvoort beach. The shower was good and I slept like a newborn. Staff were sweethearts though. My only thing is that for a family of four with two kids, expect to pay 45 euro extra, that’s two buffets and two continental breakfasts. Also don’t use the toilet downstairs if you have to go number 2, it’s clogged. I would stay again if the price is right and breakfast is actually included and not extra.

The staff was very courteous and friendly. However, the room we were assigned on the first night was quite a shock. The shower was located in the bedroom with only a single glass wall for separation. There was no sofa and only one chair in the room, as well as just one small bath towel provided. Overall, the room felt more like a closet than a proper hotel room. Given the price we paid, we expected a much more decent accommodation. The following day, I requested a different room, which we received that evening. This room was significantly better and met our expectations. That said, I believe a discount should have been offered for the first night, which unfortunately did not happen. Overall, the hotel is very clean and modern.
