There are lots of hotels to stay at in Kathmandu, but there is only one Shankar. Shankar has unmatched hospitality, with my personal favorite hosts Mr. Puri & Mr. Sharan who are both super stars. I always looked foward to chatting with them at meal times. Shankar has a mid-century modern motif, and it keeps the heritage of Nepal and Newari culture alive. Shankar also has an amazing garden to relax in and connect with nature after a long day in the city.

Hotel was very dated there was mould in rooms I had to be moved from the first room as the electricity kept trippingthe breakfast had a good variety and room service was great value.
The location was good just 1 street away from the action

Great location, Clean room and facilities, although needs updating. (Elevator doesn't go all the way to the lobby) Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice restaurant and shops. Airport transfer available, which was very convenient. Good Nepalese food in restaurant.
