I would give the hotel staff six or more stars if I could. They were so helpful in a variety of ways: they served a very nice breakfast every morning--they were friendly and quickly prepared our food; when the hotel lost power because of a storm, they did a great job of making dinner for hotel guests (regardless of the lack of power). They turned the lobby into a candlelit dining room--the candles were our only source of light for a few hours. When I had trouble using my credit card to order a car ride from Bolt, they used their credit card on my behalf (of course, I paid them back with cash). In every way, the staff of this hotel made the best impression on me. I recommend this hotel.

Overall the staff and hotel was very good. The room was very spacious. I had contacted the hotel before arrival and kindly asked for a room away from the street and higher up to avoid noise level. They were very kind to accommodate us with a room on 4th floor. We didn’t hear much noise from the busy street, which was noise. We were however bothered by very noisy guests next door. This was not the hotels fault. Upon asking politely, the guests next door to us turned down their volume. I was happy with this pick. The only thing I would point out is that the hotel is not located in the most scenic part of Baku. It’s more raw and authentic as you would expect from hotels close to central stations anywhere in the world. We felt safe and didn’t mind getting a glimpse of the authentic part of town as well. I would recommend this hotel,

Except for the view and location nothing is worth the price, single beds are joined to make king beds on uncomfortable mattresses and pillows, soundproofing is a misleading point because you can clearly hear all conversations from the surrounding rooms. Breakfast is good, staff is respectful and welcoming. Everything else you might as well pay a $100 more for a better stay elsewhere. Location was great if you want to see the white city, grab food or walk to the sea.
