Room was nice but service was only okay.

Room was spottless, staff was extremely courteous!!! I had a great experience at The Horseshoe

The room was very clean. Staff was nice and location is excellent. The only disappointment was the self parking garage is very far from the hotel. We didn’t bring luggage with wheels so we had to carry very heavy bags a long way. Next time I know to bring luggage with wheels or drop my wife and luggage to the front of the hotel and park the car and walk the long way to the hotel, also they wouldn’t waive the $34 early check in fee.

I think the DOM needs a little bit of an update, the rooms look like they are getting some real wear and tear unfortunately. In addition the bar is not staffed and the lighting is really bright and uncomfortable. There was a American guest who was loudly on Zoom calls multiple evenings which wasn't courteous and rude to all the other guests. I am sure it was great for him to have the entire bar to himself to have his work calls but I think the staff should have said something to him as it was extremely discourteous and rude.

My room was very quiet and I enjoyed having the kitchen amenities and the balcony. The bed was average. My only negative comments are related to the unusually excessive daily damage deposit that I wasn’t expecting - big upfront unexpected expense! Also there was no bus cart for me to take groceries up to my room - but the bellmen would do it for a set fee. The pool was lovely, but closed at 7pm, which seemed early to me for summer. I enjoyed my stay, but won’t probably return to this resort.

Lovely staff. Incredible property. The hype is real. This is by far and away the nicest property we’ve stayed at in Manhattan in a long time.
