Staff was very helpful, to plan nights and where to go in Valletta.

Fantastic property with great pools and accommodation in a central location near to excellent restaurants overlooking the bay

On arrival at the property we were very dissapointed that it was not as advertised a beach front property (about a 300 metre walk down a busy road). When shown to our room we were walked down what I can only describe as a very smelly corridor. Fortunately it could be avoided by using an alternative lift further down the hotel ground floor. The room was very clean, no issues at all, the view was fair, into an inner garden courtyard. On the first night some strange noises started at about 4:30 in the morning BOOM....BOOM....BOOM every few minutes. As soon as you dropped back off to sleep it woke you up again. Then sometime between 5:30 and 6:30 furniture was being pulled across the floor above, screeching as it was being moved. Reception, said to return at 5pm to look at an alternative solution. The alternative rooms were much further along the corridor, but the room was inferior. So we said we would try one more night in the same room...But it was de ja vue. In fairness to the staff, they checked in with us at breakfast and agreed to move us to better accommodation on a higher floor later that day. The rooms were far better and the next 5 nights were much quieter. Unfortunately on the last three nights the hotel got busier and guests returning back to their rooms in the early hours were incredibly noisy and the doors were very noisy banging shut. We expected much better from a 5 star hotel, which advertised "sound proof rooms". The staff in fairness were very helpful.

Overall, the hotel and location exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. We ate at all the restaurants on site and used both pools and the private beach area. The food was great at all places and all had great views of the Mediterranean. I recommend the onsite breakfast buffet as well. Service was great, everyone was friendly and professional. George at the concierge was especially helpful in planning various activities around Malta. We really enjoyed the private hotel area along the water. A lot of water front for swimming and snorkeling and with great views. The two pools were nice too. However, dont expect sandy beaches but the lounge area is just as good without the sand (not has messy either). Easy to get transfers from the hotel such as taxis or a bus. The only thing we were not aware of is that the area near the hotel in St. Julian is the 'party' area with clubs and bars. However, the resort is large enough that we didn't hear the noise or were bothered by the party streets. The resort is great for families as well and we would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful and luxurious hotel. The breakfast was great and outdoor pool a treat. The price reflects the luxury and great location.
