My red flag is that they should have breakfast included with the price and not as an extra. But also there were fruit flies flying around the bread but whatever there are starving children that would be grateful otherwise. I’m a simple customer and I make the best out all my experiences. The neighborhood around is beautiful. It’s convenient that the location is midpoint between Amsterdam and Zandvoort beach. The shower was good and I slept like a newborn. Staff were sweethearts though. My only thing is that for a family of four with two kids, expect to pay 45 euro extra, that’s two buffets and two continental breakfasts. Also don’t use the toilet downstairs if you have to go number 2, it’s clogged. I would stay again if the price is right and breakfast is actually included and not extra.

Be advised this is a Historic building and not great for anyone with mobility issues the 8 high entry steps without hand rails could be an issue for some they were for my 80 yr old mother, also the emergency stairs inside the hotel which has only 1 very slow elevator are very steep and narrow. I booked 2 deluxe canal view rooms but was given one room on the first floor and a second which I suspect was not a deluxe on the 3rd floor so our family was separated. We stayed only 1 night so we didn’t feel we needed to make a fuss about it but the situation should not have happened in the first place. It’s not near any of the museums so a taxi ride ($30-$50 ea way) was needed to get to many of the attractions we wanted to see but if you are wanting to be close to the train station it’s a great location. The breakfast was way to $$$ so we found many eateries within walking distance but the area is very dirty trash everywhere homeless sleeping in the alley ways and bridges.

I will not be staying at this hotel ever again hotel was far from Downtown and the rooms look good online but the beds are horrible 2 twin beds put together to make a king very uncomfortable the shower is extremely small and hard to shower in the furniture is very low quality Front desk staff was ok the staff at the bar weren’t very professional or attentive they took a very long time to come around and take our orders and then they will forget to put the orders in we stayed there 9 days and the only staff member that we were happy with was Sara at the bar.

This is an immaculate well staffed hotel that is of the highest quality. From the architectural renovation of the old medical building to the comfort of the beds and the calm park setting. The concierge service was highly informative and showed us the gems of the city. We had the best time at this property. These people love this place … and there is a stunning Picasso in the bar (44/50 print).

AC in the room was loud, 1 out of 2 elevators did not work and the one that did took a really long time to move from floor to floor (felt like slow motion), door keot getting slammed throughout the night, room doors should shut automatically, but a soft close and not hard slam middle of the night. shuttle to the airport needed to be booked, but they overbooked it (more people than seats and not enough room for luggage), dinner buffet was not worth it compared to the food that could be ordered at the bar (at check in just said "do you need a reservation for dinner?", so partly my mistake for not figuring out that there was another option). Bright side was that there was no airport noise.

This location is good if you want an affordable hotel that’s walking distance from the canal districts and from the De Pijp neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and the room fairly well equipped. Unfortunately we got woken on the first morning, with “do not disturb” on our door, because the hotel plumbing had backed up and the plumbing access was in our room. Not a great start, our shower backed up with water from the sewers and smelled terrible. The hotel did give us a room to shower in for the day which helped and the staff were great. I’d like to have liked this hotel a lot more than we did, unfortunately starting a stay with a plumbing failure affecting the overall stay isn’t going to result in a five-star experience anywhere though.
