East Coast and Midlands Ski Vacations

Hotel was clean, breakfast was good quality, staff were friendly. We had just a few issues, 1:Requested a cot on check-in and the cot wasn't in our room when we got back that night (luckily we had a travel cot in the car). 2: Our room was left open after it was cleaned and we were out the whole day. 3: someone must have been re arranging there conference room at 5.30am and woke us up with the sound of tables and chairs being dragged across a floor. Otherwise staff where friendly hotel was clean and the breakfast was good quality.

The hotel is dated and pretty tired in places. The room was fine, just old fashioned. The shower was fairly terrible! Breakfast was great though and jacuzzi and gym facilities were good. You do have to wear a swimming hat to use the pool; they have hats available to use but a borrowed hat seems quite unhygienic so only jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were available to us. For a one night stay it was fine and functional.

Lovely hotel, great location near RDS, Herbert Park, & lovely walks along the Dodder. Ten minute walk to the DART station. Only downside is condo construction on one side of the hotel — so either plan to be out of the room during weekdays, or request a room as far from construction as possible…

From the very beginning, before we even arrived at the hotel, it was clear the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are immaculate and the countryside setting is stunning. The walks around the grounds are so peaceful. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks while staying there and couldn't find fault with anything. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, we even got to have a look around 10 bedroom Balyna House which can be rented out with its own bar and butler and a cool looking Cellar bar too.It is beautiful, and looks like the perfect setting for a wedding. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and really appreciated the extra touches of chocolates in our room and a dessert sent down to us after lunch. The water station in the hallway not far from our bedroom was so handy to refill our bottle with fresh, cold water whenever we needed. We definitely plan to stay there again.

This is literally my favourite hotel! Great staff, relaxed atmosphere, delicious breakfast and dinner and a large comfortable room with a balcony. Perfection!

Staying at St. Helens was like staying in a traditional mansion! We fell in love with the grounds when driving in, with a beautiful fountain and rose garden in front. In the back there are a gorgeous lawns, and gardens, a perfect setting for weddings or other special occasion. The restaurants are both excellent. There are a lot of nice touches everywhere, like blankets on the back of some of the chairs at the outdoor dining area to keep warm. Overall we were really impressed and hope to return again.

Very small basic room but had everything needed. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and hotel was great for leaving luggage due to late flight. Free coffee in reception although no one pointed this out to us and so didn't know until day we departed! Although it is classed as city centre, it was a good 20min walk to Temple Bar area but only 10mins to Guinness Factory and there is a tram stop about 2mins down the road. Air conditioning was a god send in the heatwave.

The room was nice and had nice basic furnishings, but was very dark. The water in the bathroom would jot get cold. We managed to be in Dublin during the heat wave, and our room was very hot, almost 90 degrees, and the provided fan did nothing to cool the room. It was cooler outside and in the hallway than in our room. We actually had to check out at 10pm our first night because of the heat and Uber across town to a different hotel. The Lesson Inn doesnt not allow cancelation after 3 days prior th check in, but we had no way of knowing that the room was going to be so hot 3 days before checking in. They refused our request to refund any portion of our 3 nught stay even though we were only there for a few hours. They only offered a complimentary 3 night stay later this year, but since we are from the overseas that is not a workable solution for us. We are now out the cost of 2 hotels for the same 3 nights.
