Ko‘olauloa District Pet-friendly Vacations

We stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort for seven nights and left extremely disappointed. The property is currently under heavy construction, and the extent of that construction was not clearly disclosed at the time of booking. Large sections of the hotel are impacted. One entire entrance is closed, parts of the property feel like a construction zone, and several amenities that guests reasonably expect at a “resort” are simply unavailable. During our stay there was no on-site coffee shop, no gym, and multiple areas of the property were either closed or disrupted. The hotel itself is also clearly aging, which is much more noticeable when so many services and facilities are unavailable. What makes this particularly frustrating is that the hotel is still charging a $50–$60 per night resort fee. Resort fees are typically justified by access to amenities like fitness facilities, on-site services, and enhanced guest experiences. When those amenities are closed or unavailable, charging a full resort fee feels unreasonable and misleading. Had the extent of the construction and closures been clearly communicated ahead of time, we likely would have chosen a different property. Waikiki has many options, and guests deserve transparency when a hotel is undergoing major renovation. The beachfront location is great, but in its current state this property does not deliver the experience expected for the price — especially when additional nightly resort fees are still being charge

Everything was great. Perfect ocean views, clean and well maintained rooms, and breakfast was always a hit with the food and great staff. 10/10 would stay here again

We feel right at home at the Royal Hawaiian. We will not stay anywhere else. The hospitality and kindness of the staff are beyond perfect. Many of the staff have worked there for many many years and we enjoy seeing them every time we go. They obviously must treat the employees as well as they do the patrons!

Thermostat could not be set lower than 72 degrees which was sometimes too hot in the Villa. Security around the pool was rude with telling us that pool hours ended. Otherwise, great location

I had corner unit so I overlooked at Bay great firework show on Friday night from Balcony loud cruisers in evening with blaring music heard all the way up to 16th floor not in properties control, Shopping Ala Moana mall almost attached convenient bridge to walk across with out have to cross streets

A bit dated room but good location. Amenities are great and beach access was very close.

This is a special place, and I really enjoyed my stay here. The morning yoga classes on the floating dock were exceptional. Just be aware it is a 3-star resort, so don't expect the units to be in top condition. Cleanliness could be better (corners, top of the fridge), though overall acceptable (linens and towels were clean). Overall a very peaceful spot with amenities to offer and friendly staff. Oh, and the daily banana bread was delicious (and vegan, which was a pleasant surprise).
